New information has emerged about the alleged stabbing incident in which Lamine Yamal’s father was stabbed on Wednesday.
Mounir Nasraoui was in the Spanish city of Mataro and was allegedly attacked in a parking lot. He was then rushed to hospital.
According to The VanguardiaAccording to local residents, Nasraoui got into an argument with a number of people while he was walking his dog. The conflict escalated into a brawl, after which Nasraoui was stabbed several times.
He was left in serious condition and taken by ambulance to the nearby Can Ruti Hospital in Badalona after the stabbing.

The report states that Yamal’s father’s history with the trio goes ‘way back’. An earlier fight is said to have led to the stabbing. However, it is unclear when this incident took place.
It also tells about the earlier confrontation when Nasraoui was walking his dog and water was thrown at him from a balcony, which led to a new argument.
The people who attacked him later that night were said to be the same people or their relatives, leaving Nasraoui with no chance to defend himself.
It is also said that the investigation is still ongoing and that more than three arrests may have already been made.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident, which occurred around 9:10 p.m. local time, remains ongoing.
Witnesses who witnessed the stabbing have reportedly been contacted by local police in Mataro, who are gathering to gather crucial information about the attack.
Video footage has also emerged of an earlier confrontation between Nasraoui and other community members, before Yamal’s father was taken away by police.
Nasraoui has been his son’s biggest supporter for years and was there when the 17-year-old Yamal secured the European championship title with Spain when they beat England in the final.
Yamal was Spain’s star player at the tournament, with his father previously stating that the rising superstar could be “bigger than [Lionel] Messi’, and he gained cult status because of his presence in Germany.

Nasraoui lives in the Rocafonda neighbourhood of Mataro, where Yamal grew up. The Barcelona star still honours the neighbourhood with his ‘304’ celebration, which refers to the postcode.
The 35-year-old father is originally from Morocco but moved to Spain at the age of nine, where he met Yamal’s mother Sheila Ebana. The couple had their son, a football prodigy, in 2007.
Nasraoui dreamed of becoming a professional footballer in Spain, but he couldn’t make it, so he started working and had various jobs to make ends meet.
Nasraoui, who is two years younger than Yamal’s Spain team-mate Jesus Navas, followed his son through Germany when Spain became champions of Euro 2024.
