  • The Rabbitoh full-back was left frustrated after losing to the Broncos
  • Latrell Mitchell cursed several times in a live radio interview
  • Told Ben Dobbin he “didn’t care” about using foul language
  • A call from an NRL representative is likely for Mitchell

Rabbitohs fullback Latrell Mitchell is likely to receive a call from the NRL, where he will be clearly told to be a better role model after swearing several times on live radio following his team’s defeat to the Broncos on Thursday.

Mitchell, 26, endured a mixed night at Suncorp Stadium as the Bunnies lost their second straight game to open the 2024 season.

Speaking to Triple M’s Ben Dobbin, the native star lamented his team’s failure to capitalize on their chances as they were outclassed 28-18.

It has since been revealed that the FM radio station has cut the footy chat due to the amount of foul language.

Mitchell also raised eyebrows after stating that he “didn’t care” when it came to the amount of swearing.

“Look, honestly, fuck, it was shit,” Mitchell began.

‘In the first part it was just a difficult match, f**k, we showed what we stand for.

“Honestly, they’re (Bronco’s) big boys, they’re competitors. It makes you wonder why they came second last year, so f**k, we can build on that.

“I don’t care if I swear, guys, honestly.”

Mitchell then explained that he was happy to score his 100th NRL try during the match and added another F-bomb.

Dobbin maintained his composure, before Fox League commentator Dan Ginnane ‘thanked’ Mitchell for his time on air.

“They (all) know they are professionals and role models, which means they have to set an example,” he told the newspaper Sydney Morning Herald.

“When we speak to fans through media interviews, we have a responsibility to be respectful.”
