Sofia Vergara hits back after contractor claimed she didn’t pay for $1.7M worth of work on her LA mansion as attorney for the star says company was responsible for $5 million in damages

A lawyer for Sofia Vergara has hit back after the star’s former contractor claimed she failed to pay a huge bill for work on her LA mansion.

Marty Singer, Vergara’s attorney, said TMZ Sofia was the first to send a demand letter to Reside Custom Homes, the contractor she hired to work on her lavish home. He says the letter was submitted on September 12.

The letter claims the company was responsible for $5 million in damages for overcharging the actress and performing substandard work. They were also accused of delaying the job.

Marty says the allegations were never disputed by RCH, which sued the actress over the alleged unpaid bill.

Marty is confident that his client will prevail and receive a large payout.

A lawyer for Sofia Vergara has hit back after the star’s former contractor claimed she failed to pay a huge bill for work on her LA mansion.

It comes after TMZ reported that Vergara was being sued by Reside Custom Homes. In their lawsuit, the company claimed that the actress owed them $1,700,492.64 after hiring them for a job in April 2022.

The company claims they were hired to perform construction work on Vergara’s lavish home in the Beverly Park neighborhood, but were never compensated, despite her agreeing to pay for the project and additional contractor costs.

According to the lawsuit, work was largely completed by December 2022, but Vergara subsequently requested more substantial improvements outside of their original agreement, pushing the project to March 2023. At that point, Sofia had moved back into the mansion.

The Modern Family actress, 51, had requested clay plaster in three of her powder rooms, an office, the walls of the dining room, the cabana bathroom and the living room of the guest house.

She would also have wanted a staircase removed and replaced.

The contractor claims they initially covered the cost of the additional work and that Vergara promised she would continue to pay for the improvements.

Additionally, RCH claims they were informed by the actress that she had approved an invoice for nearly $900,000 and had “already” instructed her money manager to pay it.

However, RCH claims she never actually paid the bill and now owes them more than a million dollars.

The couple announced in July that they had separated and were divorcing after seven years of marriage.

Just two days after announcing their separation, the actor filed for divorce and noted the date of separation as July 2, while calling the reason for the end of their marriage “irreconcilable differences.”
