MailOnline has reached out to a representative of Mimi for comment.

Mimi rose to fame in 2020, releasing a series of emotionally charged songs after her first release, Before I Go, got 85 million views on TikTok when she sang it in an NYC restaurant for social media star Charli D’Amelio.

Mimi has been singing since she was a kid growing up in Canterbury, Kent, appearing at talent shows and earning a brief role on EastEnders before starting to write her own songs.

She landed a record deal when she was just 18 and released her first EP Seven Shades Of Heartache in 2020 with huge success.

On the EP, Mimi sings about breakups and grief. She revealed to the BBC in a 2022 interview that making the record caused her to reassess the relationship she was in at the time.

“Half of the EP is about my very first boyfriend, and the second is probably about my ex-boyfriend,” she explained.

“It’s crazy because I was in a relationship when I was writing this EP, and the EP kind of helped me realize that relationship wasn’t right for me.”

She added that playing the songs for her supportive parents only brought them closer, recalling how her father reacted to her song Halfway — a moment she recorded for TikTok.

He said firmly, ‘What’s going on here? Did he break your heart?’

“But that’s one of the things – through this experience playing my music, I’ve built a very honest relationship between me and my parents, where they can get to know me through my lyrics,” she said.

“And it was so nice to be able to go to my father and get advice.”

Mimi is currently preparing to head to LA early next year to record more music before embarking on a UK and European tour in the spring.
