Scottish singer Amy MacDonald has begged for privacy after it was suspected a fan showed up at her home last weekend.

The 35-year-old took to social media on Saturday to discuss the “incredibly scary” experience.

She lives outside Glasgow with her husband Richard Foster, a former Rangers and Aberdeen footballer.

The This is the Life singer seemed alarmed yesterday after posting a disturbing message about the invasion of privacy.

She told her 157,000 followers on Instagram, “I’m so thankful for all my amazing fans, but it’s never okay to show up at my house. Please don’t.

“It’s incredibly scary to me, as innocent as it may be.”

Her management company in London was contacted for more information about the incident.

Miss MacDonald is one of Scotland’s most successful recording artists, having sold over 12 million records since first appearing on the music scene in 2007.

During the pandemic, she kept her fans entertained by uploading performances she recorded in her five-bedroom home.

Figures released earlier this year showed that the singer’s company Amy Macdonald Ltd, which channels income from her songwriting royalties, earned £2.7 million.

Her touring company, Amy Macdonald Touring Ltd, was valued at nearly £3 million.
