Simone Callahan opens up about her ‘grief’ following death of ex-husband Shane Warne: ‘You carry it with you every day’

Simone Callahan has revealed how she dealt with the death of her ex-husband Shane Warne.

The 54-year-old, mother of Warne’s three children, said women’s Day this week that she consistently practices yoga to keep herself “in alignment.”

Simone, a qualified yoga instructor, said honing her skills in the ancient arts helped her cope with her grief after Shane passed away in 2022.

“You carry it with you every day, but my little rituals keep me aligned with my purpose and feeling good,” she said.

“Grief has taught me not to take anything for granted and to do my best every day and work hard to stay strong.”

Simone’s comments come in the wake of her recently released memoir Growing With Grace.

The former WAG’s wellness book explores her journey to becoming a yoga instructor.

However, she was initially unsure about sharing her story.

“(But) I talked to my kids and my family and they all told me to do that, so I put pen to paper.”

“Grief has taught me not to take anything for granted and to do my best every day and do the work to stay strong,” Simone said

Shane and Simone married in 1999 and were married for six years before divorcing in 2005.

Tragically, Shane died of a heart attack on March 4, 2022 while on vacation in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Thai police said he was staying at the villa with four friends, and when one of the group tried to wake Shane up for food around 5pm local time, he was found to be unresponsive.

Shane’s manager separately confirmed his death and said the father-of-three could not be revived.

He is regarded as one of the best cricketers in history after claiming 708 Test wickets at 25.41 in 145 matches between 1992 and 2007.
