It’s been a year since Olympic gymnast Simone Biles celebrated her wedding to NFL star Jonathan Owens with a ceremony in Cabo San Lucas — and the gold medalist posted the best she could remember of the occasion.

Biles posted photos from the big day to her Instagram Story from the ceremony where the couple tied the knot for the second time after eloping at a Houston courthouse a week earlier.

Among the many photos Biles shared was a photo of her and her mother, Nellie Biles, celebrating at a pool party.

Simone wrote, “Mama Biles is probably telling me to eat before I pass out. That would have been good advice about three hours before… because I did black out and missed the rest of the pool party.”

The rest of the photo gallery showed Biles with her friends and family — as well as her husband — before a final photo showed someone pouring alcohol in her mouth with the caption “and then I blacked out.”

The couple first met in 2020 on a dating app and Owens didn’t know who Biles was — something the gymnast liked.

Biles admitted that she slid into his DMs because she thought the player was cute. Plus, they were both conveniently located in the Houston area, so they hung out in person a few weeks after exchanging text messages.

Due to the pandemic, Biles’ Summer Olympics and Owens’ NFL training were put on hold, but it gave the couple more quality time to get to know each other.

They got engaged in February 2022 and officially tied the knot at that courthouse in April 2023.
