‘Genius’ young woman reveals how a simple idea for a side business made her pay an extra $2,400 a month from ‘wealthy suburban moms’
- Emily Brogan had set her sights on moving from Brisbane to London
- She had wealthy mothers hire her to organize their wardrobes for $50 an hour
A young woman has revealed how she made an extra $600 a week with a simple side hustle where “wealthy suburban moms” paid her $50 an hour.
Emily Brogan is an ambitious woman and had set her sights on moving to London from her hometown of Brisbane.
She already worked 38 hours a week in retail, but also started a organizing business to bring in some extra money.
Emily joined Facebook neighborhood groups for wealthy suburbs in her city and explained her plight about wanting to move abroad.
Dozens of moms soon came to her aid — many simply demanding that she untangle a bunch of necklaces at her usual $50 an hour rate.

Emily soon made enough money and was able to move to London much more quickly thanks to her part-time business.
The Brisbane woman did not attend university and mainly earned money from various retail and hospitality jobs before taking up her organizing side job.
She explained her situation in a now-viral video.
“About a year ago, I started a sideline where I posted to Facebook pages for prestigious suburbs and asked for work.
‘I’m very driven, I had set my sights on moving to London and I needed to earn more money.
“So I ran ads that said, ‘I have extreme OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and I like to organize. I have a dream to move to London. If you want to help me, you can hire me for $50/hr to organize and color your wardrobes, linens, shoes, or pantry.”
Emily didn’t think anyone would take the offer because most wages in Australia are between $20 and $30.
“I charged double time, I charged for a holiday,” she joked.
“But I was immediately inundated with wealthy mothers who wanted to help me make my dream come true.
“I ended up getting booked up all the time — working 38 hours a week in retail and an extra 12 hours for my sideline.
“It was such a fun time. I rocked to these houses and untangled necklaces for 30 minutes for $50.”
Emily spent most of her time organizing handbags and wardrobes with matching colors.

Many were amazed at Emily’s excellent idea.
“That’s such a good side business, I could copy you,” one woman said.
“Smart lady, I would actually pay for someone to come and clean my room. It’s just a mess, I can’t deal with it,” wrote another.
“I’m going to do this to fund my European Championship summer – that’s so great,” said one woman.
Another added: “Brilliant, that’s actually more than I got as a doctor in training.”
