‘Sick’ Meghan Markle fails to show up alongside Prince Harry at Kevin Costner charity event

Prince Harry attended Kevin Costner’s charity concert alone after Meghan Markle reportedly fell ‘ill’.

The Duke of Sussex honored a Santa Barbara helicopter pilot at the One805Live! concert, held at Costner’s coastal California estate.

Several A-listers, including Jeff Bridges, Rob Lowe and Pink, were on hand to honor the heroics of the emergency workers.

Last year, Harry and Meghan attended the same event and many hoped Meghan would attend again.

However, a source confirmed that ‘rumor has it she is sick and couldn’t come’, Mirror report.

Kevin Costner, pictured here performing, became emotional as he recalled his visit to the polo field, where his One805Live! concert is now taking place.

Harry is now expected to travel to New York this weekend to attend other events, including the Diana Awards and a Halo Trust event, which Diana was involved with.

Dressed in a navy suit and light blue shirt, Harry addressed the audience at the One805 concert to present an award on stage to local helicopter pilot Loren Courtney early in the evening after he arrived at 7pm.

He joked about how they both felt more comfortable behind the controls of a helicopter than on stage.

This comes after it was revealed that Prince Harry will return to the UK later this month to attend a major charity event in London.

It has been announced that the Duke of Sussex will attend the annual WellChild Awards in his role as patron of the charity.

The national charity for seriously ill children is one of the few organisations in the UK with which the prince maintained ties after he acrimoniously stepped down from royal duties and moved to the US.

He chose to remain in the role he had held for 16 years when his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, asked him to step down from his other royal patronages as he was no longer working as a family member.

There was no mention that his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, would be accompanying him.

According to some reports, she has vowed never to set foot in the UK again. When she flew to the UK earlier this year when the couple visited Nigeria, she didn’t even set foot outside the airport.

On Monday, the Daily Mail reported that Harry may travel to the UK to attend the awards ceremony, after both Buckingham and Kensington Palace congratulated him on his 40th birthday via their social media channels.

As the King currently lives in Scotland but returns to London regularly for his cancer treatment, this could be an opportunity for father and son to actually meet in secret.

But just two days before Harry’s birthday, the King has an important appointment in Scotland, when he and Queen Camilla visit the Scottish Parliament to mark its 25th anniversary.

This suggests he is likely to remain north of the border as long as his son is in the country.

The last time they saw each other was in February, when it was announced that the king had cancer. The prince flew in from the US to visit him briefly.

Earlier this week, Harry and Meghan also stressed that voting is a “fundamental way to influence communities” and create a “fairer world” in a new statement ahead of the US election.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who live in Montecito, California, celebrated National Voter Registration Day yesterday by engaging the Archewell team in a letter-writing activity.

Archewell’s website describes how the couple’s staff used Vote Forward’s impactful letter-writing tool to encourage unregistered voters to vote in November’s presidential election.

The statement said: “Voting is not just a right; it is a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities.

At The Archewell Foundation, we recognize that community engagement, regardless of one’s political affiliation, is at the heart of a more just and equal world.

‘By participating in these kinds of initiatives, we want to reinforce the message that every vote counts.’
