Barbara Corcoran has shared how she “ruined it” with Jennifer Lopez when she dated Alex Rodriguez and missed the “party of the year.”
In a “Get Ready With Me” video shared on TikTok, the Shark Tank star recalled how the former Yankees player joined the show in 2017 — early on in his four-year relationship with the singer.
“A few years ago, A-Rod was a guest on Shark. He was in a relationship with J.Lo at the time and the press went crazy. We were all in awe of the star,” Corcoran, 74, explained as she did her makeup.
“When A-Rod entered the elevator with the gorgeous J.Lo draped on his arm, we all stopped our conversations to stare at him.”

“A week later, you can imagine how excited I was when I received an invitation to A-Rod’s birthday party at J.Lo’s house.”
Corcoran shared how she went shopping for the “perfect designer outfit” to wear to the star-studded event.
‘Me, after all I couldn’t wear something I already owned,” she insisted. “This was J.Lo we were talking about.”
The real estate magnate then flew from Los Angeles to New York City especially for the party, but she missed one important detail.
“The invitation I got didn’t have the party’s address on it, and I think that was to keep the partygoers away,” she said.
“All I know is that their apartment was on a high floor in the fabulous Park Avenue apartment. Why? Because I read it in the tabloids.
“On the way from the airport, my assistant called and said she got the email with the address—and it was in Los Angeles.”
Corcoran had landed in New York just before the party was to begin, making it impossible for her to fly back in time.
In Corcoran’s “Get Ready With Me” video, she recalled how Lopez invited her to Rodriguez’s birthday party, but the invitation had no address on it.

Corcoran added that she learned an important lesson: “Don’t assume you know the details, especially when it’s the best party of the year”
‘So what have I done? I did what anyone who wasn’t invited to the party would do. I ordered a takeaway and watched Shark Tank by myself in my brand new designer outfit,” she admitted.

“I hope they had a bad time,” she said jokingly.
Corcoran previously admitted that she had a crush on Rodriguez when he appeared in Shark Tank and considered Lopez her “enemy.”
“I’ve seen J.Lo twice, but to tell you the truth, she’s my enemy. Because I want Alex,” she joked The Michelle Collins Show in 2018.
“He looks really good,” she added. ‘He is smart! I know I have to talk about that, because that’s why he’s on the show… but overall he looks so good.”
Corcoran got her chance when Rodriguez and Lopez split in 2021, but she is still happily married to her husband, Bill Higgins, a retired Navy captain and FBI agent.
Together they have two children, an adult son, Tom, and a teenage daughter, Kate.
As an investor in Shark Tank, ABC’s four-time Emmy award-winning show, she has invested in more than 80 companies to date.
Corcoran is also the proud owner of a $15 million penthouse in New York City and a nearly $1 million mobile home located in a posh Los Angeles trailer park.
