COCAINE found in White House: Preliminary Secret Service tests show white powder leading to hazmat situation was an illegal drug
- A uniformed member of the Secret Service found a suspicious white powder during a routine tour of the White House on Sunday
- Preliminary tests showed that the substance is cocaine
- The discovery prompted an evacuation from the White House — Biden was not there at the time
Cocaine was found in the White House building on Sunday night and the Secret Service is investigating the incident that led to an evacuation of the property.
A preliminary test showed that the white powder substance was positive for cocaine, an official familiar with the study said told the Washington Post.
The discovery came two days after Joe Biden’s son Hunter, 52, visited the White House on Friday, which has pricked up conservatives who point to the president’s addicted son as the source of the illegal substance.
Far-right Newsmax host Robb Schmitt said, “It wouldn’t be a thumping July 4th weekend without Hunter Biden ripping lines off a bust of Teddy Roosevelt.”

US Secret Service spokesman Anthony Gulielmi told the Post that they are conducting further tests to confirm whether the substance is the illegal drug.
He also said that President Joe Biden was not in the executive mansion when the substance was discovered.
Authorities are investigating how the cocaine ended up in the White House.
A uniformed member of the USSS found the white powder dust during a routine tour of the White House — but it’s not clear where in the building the cocaine was found.
The discovery of the illegal drug led to a brief evacuation from the White House.
The D.C. fire department responding to the call determined that the substance was not a threat — and the recording of a fire department message confirmed that testing showed it was cocaine.
“We have a yellow bar that says cocaine hydrochloride,” a firefighter from the D.C. hazardous materials department reported at 8:49 p.m. Sunday, according to the Post.
Hunter Biden, who is known to struggle with substance abuse, was at the White House Friday before leaving for Camp David with his father for the July 4 holiday weekend.
The president and his son claim that he is free of his addiction.
Recently, the younger Biden reached a plea deal with Justice Department prosecutors to avoid jail time after lying on a federal form to purchase a firearm. He ticked a box claiming he was not using any illegal substances or addicted to them — a fact that would disqualify him from purchasing the gun.
The form contradicts the timelines and claims in Hunter Bidne’s own memoir.
Biden critics and conservatives disapproved of Hunter’s plea deal, claiming that anyone other than the president’s son would face jail time for the same crime.
The deal also saw Hunter plead guilty to two tax violations.
