Sean Dyche is favourite to be Everton’s next manager after the club SACKED Frank Lampard

Former Burnley boss Sean Dyche is the favorite to be Everton’s next manager after the club sacked Frank Lampard… but Wayne Rooney and David Moyes are also in the running and could make spectacular returns to Goodison Park.

Former Burnley boss Sean Dyche is the bookies’ favorite to take over Everton following the sacking of Frank Lampard.

Despite helping the Toffees miraculously avoid relegation last season, Lampard was relieved of his duties on Monday following a terrible 2-0 defeat at West Ham.

Dyche is the leading candidate, at 6/4, according to several bookmakers, followed by former Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa and current West Ham boss David Moyes.

Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche is the favorite to take charge of the relegation fighters.

Dyche would be very busy taking control of what appeared to be a poisoned chalice at Goodison Park, with fans furious with owner Farhad Moshiri and the Everton board.

He has not managed since he was sacked by Burnley in April 2022 after nine and a half years at Turf Moor. The 51-year-old has extensive experience steering teams away from the relegation squad and could provide a calming influence in a turmoil-plagued Goodison Park.

For his part, Marcelo Bielsa (3/1) has been another of the names mentioned in relation to the vacancy in the blue half of Merseyside.

Marcelo Bielsa and West Ham manager David Moyes have also been linked to the vacancy.

Despite a poor track record with MLS fighters DC United, Rooney is among the bookmakers’ favourites.

Odds for the next Everton boss

Sean Dyche- 3/2

Marcelo Bielsa – 3/1

David Moyes 4/1

Wayne Rooney – 6/1

Nuno Holy Spirit – 8/1

Duncan Ferguson – 12/1

Sam Allardyce- 1/14

The Argentine, like Dyche, has experience in both the Premier League and the Championship, which Everton may need if the results continue.

Moyes, a 4/1 favourite, pushed his former club further into the quagmire, but he may still not be safe at West Ham. The east London club just one point ahead of 18th-placed Bournemouth.

While he may very well be a fan favorite, former player and current DC United boss Wayne Rooney is a long shot, currently the fourth seed (6/1).

While Rooney could be a popular choice, his CV is certainly closer to Lampard’s than the experienced Premier League managers mentioned.

His team, DC United, finished bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference and had the worst overall record in the American top flight.

Before the Blues signed Frank Lampard, Rooney turned down an approach to discuss the vacancy, following the sacking of Rafa Benitez, while in charge of Derby County.

Former Everton boss Frank Lampard couldn’t get Everton team to start this season

Another former Toffee Duncan Ferguson is among those named, along with former manager Sam Allardyce, who steered the club back from relegation once before.

Everton currently sit 19th in the Premier League table, level on points with bottom-placed Southampton.

The Toffees are winless in 10 games in all competitions and have lost four games in a row.

Since back-to-back league victories in September and October, Everton have collected five points from a possible 36.

Sam Allardyce is currently the seventh favorite to re-take over at the Merseyside club
