Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith left his team’s Sunday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers after suffering a leg injury in the third quarter.
Smith was hit low on a pass play by Packers linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, who appeared to start to stumble before hitting the Seattle quarterback.
Smith was seen limping off the field after the goal and angrily hit his helmet on the sideline. Later he was seen grimacing in pain.
After the injury, backup quarterback Sam Howell took over. The Seahawks went three-and-out and kicked a field goal to make it a 20-6 game.
According to SNF’s Melissa Stark, Smith entered the Seahawks’ “blue tent” where he was examined by medical personnel. Finally, he went through the tunnel to the locker room — along with the medical staff and wide receiver Tyler Lockett — before entering the X-ray room.
The Seahawks have listed Smith’s official status as questionable and say he has a knee injury.
