Schiffty criminals: Democrat Adam Schiff’s bags are STOLEN from his car in San Francisco

Democrat Adam Schiff was defeated without a trial at a formal event in the Bay Area after some devious San Francisco criminals broke into his car and stole his luggage.

The House Democrat, who represents Burbank in Southern California, was in town for a campaign event. He is currently making a competitive bid for the Senate to replace former Senator Dianne Feinstein.

During the trip, Schiff committed a cardinal sin — at least in crime-ridden San Francisco — by leaving his luggage in his car while it was parked in a downtown garage.

The lawmaker’s car was broken into and his suit and other belongings were stolen prior to the event.

As a result, Schiff was forced to wear casual clothes that he had on hand for the more formal dinner meeting.

An image of Schiff shows the Democrat wearing a green vest over a blue shirt, tucked into light-wash blue jeans with a brown leather belt to complete the look.

However, the table full of potential donors wore much more dignified dinner attire, such as suits and ties.

The group met at a restaurant in Burlingame, California, about a 30-minute drive south of the city.

“Yes, they took my suitcases,” Schiff told the newspaper San Francisco Chronicleadding that he doesn’t want to dwell on the crime.

But this unfortunate turn of events has not swayed lawmakers, according to Bay Area attorney Joe Cotchett.

“Adam really showed himself tonight,” he said. “He will be a great senator, he will change the Senate tremendously.”

Lee Housekeeper, Cotchett’s press agent, joked dryly, “I think it’s ‘Welcome to San Francisco.’

The housekeeper said the Democrat was aware of the dangers of car burglaries but decided to leave his belongings in the car because he was in a hurry.

Schiff, who rose to prominence after leading the first impeachment of Donald Trump, is no stranger to the Bay Area, having made several trips there as the leading star of California’s Democratic delegation.

He also attended high school in the area and then attended Stanford University, which is about 35 miles south of the city.

The city has developed a reputation for car burglaries in recent years.

In March alone, there were more than 800 burglaries, an average of about 25 per day in the city, according to city data.

Schiff will face former LA Dodgers player and Republican Steve Garvey for California’s open Senate seat in November.
