Scarlette Douglas interviewed Ant and Dec when she was young and was their backing dancer aged 17

She is best known for being the face of A Place In The Sun and for participating in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! of this year.

But Scarlette Douglas has revealed that the hosts of the jungle show previously helped her with her career, having once been their backup dancer and later interviewing them as a budding TV host.

Speaking to the Loose Women panelists, Scarlette, 35, opened up about her friendship with Ant and Dec after opening up about their time in Australia.

After opening up about her experience as a singer and dancer, she revealed that she previously danced on the back of his show Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway in 2004.

She said: “I had been a backup dancer on their TV show when I was in college, aged 17 and then ended up going on tour with them for their Saturday Night Tour Arena show.”

‘I was a backup dancer for them there and I asked if I could interview them because I wanted to be a presenter.

‘And they were so lovely that they allowed me to interview them and set up meetings for me. It really helped my career, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them.

‘It is very good that later I have to return to the program [I’m A Celeb].’

In January 2016, Scarlette shared a snapshot of herself with the iconic hosting duo while working as a member of Ant and Dec’s television crew.

He posted the undated photo to congratulate them on another success at the National Television Awards that year.

It’s unknown if this was the job Scarlette was referring to while chatting on Loose Women on Friday.

She also revealed that she applied for a green card in the US that would allow her to enter the American television industry.

In the Past: After opening up about her experience as a singer and dancer, she revealed that she previously danced on the back of his show Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway in 2004.

Chat: She said: “I had been a backup dancer on their TV show when I was in college, at 17, and then I ended up going on tour with them for their Saturday Night Tour Arena show.”

‘I applied for my green card during the lockdown to go to work in the United States and it arrived, it has been approved. I have been endorsed by an exceptional talent,’ she told Loose Women.

“James Corden blew it away with The Late Late Show, so if I could have my own version of that, that would be great.”

Speaking of manifesting the success of her career, Scarlette said that she’s always “speaking to make things exist.”

“I am very interested in affirmations, demonstrations, speaking things so that they exist”,

‘I’ll have my own chat show and make it happen at some point.

“I finished filming with A Place In The Sun last year, so I’m done with that show now. After six and a half years, I loved it. That was my first presentation job.

It comes after it was revealed that Scarlette will take over from Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain as the show’s entertainment correspondent.

After a flurry of success since the ITV show ended, Scarlette, 35, has announced that she will step into the shoes of the legendary presenter over the festive period.

The TV presenter shared the announcement on her Instagram story, saying: “I’m going to cover the legend that is Richard Arnold on GMB, the entertainment section, Good Morning Britain.” In fact, I’m going to cover the festive period. Amazing!

New Ventures: Scarlette Douglas will now replace Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain as the show’s showbiz correspondent.
