New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr piled on the fans’ misery on the Big Easy Sunday when he suffered a game-ending injury.
And the concern only grew as the 33-year-old left MetLife Stadium with his arm in a cast after the Saints’ narrow victory over the New York Giants. Nick Onderhill reported.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the signal caller is feared to have suffered a fracture in his left non-throwing hand.
Carr was replaced by backup quarterback Jake Haener during the fourth quarter of the 14-11 win in New York after sustaining the injury on a reckless move.
With 4:06 left of the game and facing a 2-and-10, Carr decided to rush down the right side of the line of scrimmage after taking the snap.
He then tried to hinder a Giants defender, which didn’t end well. Carr landed hard on his left arm as he hit the turf just before the line to make the gain.

Carr was then forced to leave the game and finished with 219 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception on 20 of 31 passing.
Saints coach Darren Rizzi told the media in a postgame statement that the quarterback suffered an injury to his left hand and also admitted that he could comply with the concussion protocol.
It is the second injury Carr has suffered this season, after injuring his oblique during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs on October 7.
Carr was sidelined for three games before returning to the field on November 3 against the Carolina Panthers.
Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler stepped in as starter in Carr’s absence, but the Saints lost all three games without the veteran.
