Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale have given fans a glimpse into what their lives are really like while raising two young sons at home, revealing how they try to “resolve conflicts” between their boys, Rocco and Rafael.
During an appearance on The View on Tuesday, Bobby, 54, admitted it can be a “juggling act” because their children were born “just 20 months apart.” Despite rarely speaking about his personal life, he did reveal that he and Rose , 44, are doing their best to help their sons “regulate” their emotions.
When host Sara Haines asked which of them is the disciplinarian, Rose quickly responded, “We rotate, it’s a rotation,” before adding, “I mean, just like any parent, you’re navigating with your kids every day and you try to understand. where they are and help them regulate and discover what inspires them.’
Bobby then said, “I have three sons. Rose and I have two sons together and I have an almost 30-year-old son, so I have a lot of experience looking into the eyes of these guys. It’s funny, Rose just used the word “regulate” because that’s a hot word in our house right now, trying to figure out how to get them regulated… it’s a lot of, “eyes here, eyes here Please.’
The Watcher actor, who was asked about his “upcoming wedding” to Rose during an appearance on Today earlier this week, continued: “It’s just a juggling act.” The difference between our children is 20 months, so it is constantly about competition and one takes one for a walk and the other takes the other into the other room and tries to resolve conflicts that way.

“We try to stay on the same page as much as possible and then talk about it, as probably most people do at the end of the night,” Bobby continued.
‘You’re sitting there, putting cream on your elbows, “hey, what about that thing that happened”… that’s me, by the way!’ he laughed, pretending to moisten his elbows before adding, “And you do the recap at the end of the night.”
Rose and Bobby, who welcomed their sons in February 2016 and November 2017, are notoriously private about their family life, but they did reference their boys in a December 2019 interview with Vanity fair when they talked about why they work together so often.
“It starts off as something very pragmatic,” Bobby said at the time. “You have the children, the children are growing up and you don’t want to spend the time alone.”
The duo, who already call each other “husband” and “wife,” just teamed up again to play a divorced couple in the new film Ezra, which also stars Robert De Niro, Whoopi Goldberg and William A. Fitzgerald.
Referring to their latest film during his interview on Today on Monday, Bobby revealed, “The cool thing about this is we shot it here in New York and New Jersey, and the kids always know where we are when we’re working. together, so that’s fun.
“Our life is really just… apart from raising the kids, it’s just a schedule, everything is a schedule. And so we do our best to really stick together. We always say, “We have to keep the band together,” so we take the kids everywhere and try to work here as much as possible.
“So whenever there’s an opportunity to work together, we know we’ll have the kids close by and that’s what it’s all about. But it’s always a fun time working with Rose, she makes me laugh like no other.”

However, the conversation took an awkward turn when Today host Craig Melvin tried to ask Bobby if he and Rose would ever get married.
Craig said: ‘I read that she gave an interview last year where she said, “The wedding is right around the corner, it’s going to happen…”, to which Bobby replied, ‘Did she say that? I haven’t seen that interview.’
“Do you want me to read it to you?” Craig replied as Bobby fired back, “No, that’s okay!” before bursting into laughter and admitting, “We’re doing fine,” shrugging his shoulders and looking around the studio rather awkwardly before adding, “Yeah, definitely.”
Craig clearly took the hint and said, “Okay, okay,” before quickly wrapping up the interview and telling Bobby, “Film’s looking good again.” Bobby Cannavale, always a pleasure.”
