Country singer Rory Feek has announced that he has married his girlfriend Rebecca.
The 59-year-old country singer announced the marriage on his blogand even gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the rustic wedding via a music video he made for a song he wrote for Rebecca called “I Do.”
Feek married Rebecca, his daughter’s schoolteacher, on July 14 in Greycliff, Montana.
The wedding comes eight years after Feek’s wife and singing partner Joey tragically passed away at the age of 40 after battling cervical cancer. Together they formed the country singing duo Rory + Joey.
The daughter he shares with Joey, Indiana, was ultimately the one who gave Rory and Rebecca permission to marry.

Rory described how he and Rebecca initially kept their romantic relationship a secret from Indiana, hoping she would “figure it out on her own.”
On his blog, he described how he wanted Indiana to approve of his romantic relationship with Rebecca before they went through with the wedding.
Feek said neither he nor Rebecca wanted to interfere with Indiana’s relationship with her late mother.
“As I wrote in my blog post Love Comes Softly back in the spring, Rebecca and I had decided to be together. To choose each other and see where it would lead. And while we knew marriage was a possibility, it wasn’t something either of us could seriously talk about,” he wrote.
‘Especially because up until that point, Indiana had only ever seen Rebecca as “Miss Rebecca,” her schoolteacher and our friend. And even though she had become so much more than that to me, I was very cautious about letting Indy “figure it out” for herself. And honestly, I wasn’t sure she ever would be able or willing to do that.’
“Her love for her mommy is so great and so big in her life. Neither Rebecca nor I wanted to hurt that in any way. And so we just waited and watched to see if it would ever occur to Indiana that Rebecca could be more than just a friend to her daddy, and to her.”
Eventually, Indiana suggested the idea of a marriage between her father and Rebecca.
‘And then one morning in late March when Rebecca came to the farm to take Indy to school, we all said a little prayer together to start the day, and then they went out the door as they usually do. But a few moments later they came back into the kitchen and Rebecca said, “Rory, Indiana just asked me something that I think you need to hear.”

“I asked Indy, and she told me she said, ‘Mrs. Rebecca, I think you should marry Daddy…’
‘Of course I was happy, but I was still surprised and told her that we all had to pray for that.
‘And then Indy looked at me and said, “And I told Miss Rebecca that my mommy’s been gone for a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she can be my new mommy…”‘
‘Needless to say, as I wiped away some tears, I told her I thought it was a great idea. And after more prayer and conversation, we came up with a plan and a date…’

Joey, half of the country duo Joey+Rory, died on March 4, 2016 at the age of 40 from complications of cervical cancer.
The death left Rory a single father to their daughter Indiana, who was only two when her mother died.
In addition to Indiana, Rory also has adult daughters Heidi and Hope from his first marriage.
