Ronda Rousey broke down in tears as she opened up about her fertility pain, revealing she had suffered two miscarriages while still competing in professional wrestling in 2019.

The 38-year-old, also known as ‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’ in both the WWE and UFC worlds, seemed emotional as she reflected on her first miscarriage five years ago, saying she suffered a week before the filming an episode became pregnant. from 9-1-1, where she almost lost a finger while performing her own stunts.

‘I found out I was pregnant right before the show started filming, and then my finger got chopped off by a boat door falling on it. We went and got checked out, the baby seemed fine, but a few weeks later I had a miscarriage, Rousey said on an episode of The Diary of a CEO from earlier this month.

“I always felt like it was my fault,” she continued. “I wanted to keep doing dangerous things during my pregnancy because I thought it made me cool.”

Rousey, who shares a daughter, La’akea, with former fighter Travis Browne, added that she hit rock bottom between both miscarriages as she struggled to come to terms with her first.

“I was just depressed, drinking and smoking and not taking care of myself, then I got pregnant again straight away, and then we never saw a heartbeat again,” the 2008 Olympics bronze medalist said of her second miscarriage.

“But I didn’t expect anything more because I just wasn’t taking good care of myself at that time.”

Rousey and Browne, who tied the knot in 2017, have been trying to have more children after welcoming La’akea in 2001. But the former bantamweight champion is still experiencing ups and downs in her ongoing IVF journey.

“I went through IVF, four cycles of IVF to get eight embryos because we wanted to have three or four children,” Rousey said. ‘And the first one we used actually worked! That’s, you know, La’akea, my daughter now.

“But yeah, we’re working on that now, and yesterday I just got the news that our first cycle didn’t work.”

IVF, a procedure that involves multiple cycles of two or more weeks, increases a woman’s chances of pregnancy, although Rousey has described her fertilization process as challenging.

“It’s hard,” she said. “It’s hard for anyone going through this, and like people, they don’t talk about it. But you know, it’s hard because you have so much hope every time. And yeah, I don’t know. I’ll just have to wait until the end of this book tour before I can try again. But I was really hoping that I would be pregnant today…

“But you know, it’s something no one talks about. And so many women think they have to go through it alone. But it is really very common. But it’s just very difficult if it doesn’t work out.’
