Robert Kraft has expressed his disappointment over the portrayal of the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl-winning teams in a recent docuseries produced by Apple, as he also announced plans to upgrade the organization’s facilities after being made aware of bad reviews in this year’s NFL Players. Association Survey (NFLPA).

While attending the annual league meeting in Orlando, Florida, Kraft, who has owned the Patriots for the past three decades, spoke with reporters for 15 minutes when asked about “The Dynasty,” a 10-part documentary series directed by Matthew Hamachek on AppleTV+.

The Patriots handed over all of their internal video archives for the docuseries, which was released in February, with Kraft and prominent members of the organization agreeing to in-depth, sometimes revealing interviews.

“I thought it was a shame that over the past twenty years so much emphasis was placed on the more controversial and, shall we say, ‘challenging’ situations,” says Kraft (81).

“I wish they would have focused more on our Super Bowl wins, our 21-game winning streak. I thought it was a shame that there were players who gave interviews for hours and they only felt the negativity (was used). … So a little disappointed that there wasn’t more of a really positive approach — especially for Patriot fans who have been through this experience with us.”

Robert Kraft wasn’t happy with Apple’s docuseries “Dynasty” about the seven-time Super Bowl-winning Patriots when asked about it Tuesday at the annual NFL meeting

Critics of the docuseries included former New England players Devin McCourty and Rodney Harrison, who were interviewed by the production crew. McCourty said he felt “cheated” because he believed the docuseries was biased against former head coach Bill Belichick.

On Tuesday, Kraft, whose net worth is $11.15 billion, was asked to comment on those who felt the docuseries portrayed Belichick in a bad light.

“Look, I’ll put it plainly: I feel so privileged that we had Bill here. We hope that when he is done coaching, we will have the opportunity to honor him as we will do with Tom Brady this year. … I look forward to the privilege of inducting Bill into the Patriots Hall of Fame one day in the future,” Kraft said.

Meanwhile, the Patriots ranked 29th out of 32 teams in the most recent NFLPA poll. The organization’s weight room ranked last in the NFL, and it was also noted that the Patriots are just one of seven teams that do not provide childcare for players’ children on game day.

Kraft jumped to Bill Belichick’s defense after several players complained that the docuseries’ production crew was trying to portray the former Patriots head coach in a bad light

Kraft vowed to undergo changes in those areas under the leadership of first-year head coach Jero Mayo and scouting director Eliot Wolf, who has the final say on all things player-related.

“I have to tell you, I wasn’t aware of how bad that was,” Kraft said. “We have had a plan, and we have put it in place, where we build a brand new facility next to ours, which has been discussed with the young leadership team – a $50 million-plus building that will have the most (modern) facilities.

‘We must correct everything that is unfavorable. I wasn’t aware even of this daycare problem. That’s something that can be solved and we want to do that. Look, the players are the heart and soul of the company. I would be very surprised if that didn’t improve.’

Kraft also expressed optimism about the team’s success under the leadership of Mayo and Wolf, believing that some improvements have already been made by signing a number of players who were about to hit free agency, including attacking linesman Mike Onwenwu, who agreed with a period of three years. $57 million contract earlier in March.

The longtime NFL team owner also opened up about the Patriots’ failed attempt to lure free agent Calvin Ridley, who signed a four-year, $92 million contract with the Tennessee Titans, saying that the agent of the player wanted to stay in the South.
