Robbie Williams has opened up about a new Netflix documentary that shows his battle with addiction and mental illness.

The 49-year-old pop star said the four-part self-titled series, which looks at his 25-year career, was “an absolute trauma” for the hitmaker to experience.

“It was very unpleasant to be honest with you,” he said during an appearance on Channel 10’s on Tuesday The projectahead of his Australian tour.

“I don’t think people even like looking at selfies of themselves and hearing their own voice,” he continued.

“And when you multiply that by watching you descend into mental illness, agoraphobia, depression and anxiety and you see a nervous breakdown, that’s not normal.”
