Jake Reiner, son of the late Rob and Michele Reiner, has married girlfriend Maria Gilfillan in the wake of the tragic murder of his parents late last year.
Jake, 34, and Gilfillan tied the knot earlier this month in what was described as “a small ceremony,” sources said TMZ Monday.
Last week, Jake was pictured wearing a gold wedding ring during his first TV interview following Rob and Michele’s deaths.
The wedding took place about eight months after his parents were fatally stabbed at their home in Brentwood, California, on December 14, 2025, while his brother Nick, 32, was charged with the double murder.
Jake had hinted at his sadness that his parents wouldn’t be able to see him marry into one Substack post published last April.
“My parents won’t be at my wedding, they won’t be able to hold their future grandchild, and they won’t see me have the successful career I still want,” he said. “It breaks my heart and enrages me at the same time.”

News of the wedding comes days after Jake emotionally opened up about his parents’ deaths in his first TV interview since their deaths with ABC7.
“It feels like eight years at once, and it also feels like eight minutes,” Jake said in the August 27 interview. “Because every moment I wake up, I’m reminded of my reality, and you experience that every day.”
Jake said he was in downtown Los Angeles on December 14 when his younger sister, 28-year-old Romy, called him twice in quick succession.
“Romy told me our dad was dead, and then she said, ‘I can’t find mom,’” Jake told the paper in his first sit-down interview since his parents were killed.
He paused for about seven seconds and appeared to struggle for words when asked about his brother Nick, who is accused of committing the double murder.
“I mean, he’s in jail,” Jake said. “So… you know, it’s… It’s like I physically lost my parents, and then Nick got arrested, and it’s like now it’s just me and Romy.”
Jake added that his parents “never stopped helping” Nick, as he acknowledged he would “never understand” their horrific death.
Nick publicly discussed his struggles with drug addiction and mental health more than a decade ago after writing the 2015 film Being Charlie for his father Rob, which was loosely based on his life.

An unsealed indictment alleged that Nick, 32, allegedly lay in wait before fatally stabbing parents Rob and Michele
Jake said he believed the project was “a way for my dad to connect.”
In the interview, Jake acknowledged that he sometimes felt “anger” about “how unfair this was” and that he “didn’t get a say in what happened.”
“I had no choice,” he said. “I just have to accept the reality of it. And to me, that’s just one of the most annoying aspects of all of this.”
Rob and Michele Reiner were found stabbed to death on December 14 in their $13.5 million mansion in the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue.
Rob was a prolific Hollywood director whose work included This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me and A Few Good Men.
He met Michele Singer, a photographer whom he later married, during the production of When Harry Met Sally.
Nick was arrested near the University of Southern California campus within hours of his parents’ deaths and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
If convicted, Nick faces life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty. Prosecutors have not said whether they will seek the death penalty.
Jake said he still honored his parents’ legacy by working with the Children’s Institute foundation, which is led by his aunt, Martine Singer, and strongly supported by Rob and Michele. On November 8, he will attend the foundation’s gala at his parents’ home.
“It’s going to be hard,” Jake told the outlet. “I think everything we’ve done without them so far has been hard and weird.”

Nick allegedly lay in wait before fatally attacking his parents at their Brentwood home, according to a US newspaper indictment unsealed on August 12.
The indictment, which was returned on July 20 but only revealed after Nick pleaded not guilty, did not address what exactly he did before the alleged murders.
It was claimed that he used a knife to stab his parents to death, but no further details were given.
Nick recently tried to use unpaid money from a 1993 trust his parents set up for him, arguing he needs it to fund his defense.
He claimed that the administrators overseeing the funds, totaling more than $1.6 million, denied him the money without legal justification.
“Nick loved his parents, and he is devastated by their deaths,” reads a petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. ‘But the facts about what did and did not happen to them are not at issue in this Trust process.’
Half of the trust was due to Nick on his 30th birthday in September 2023, but that was never paid out, according to the petition.

During a hearing in Los Angeles County Superior Court last Monday, one of Nick’s attorneys, Anita Wu, revealed that $200,000 from the trust had been spent, according to NBC News.
Nick hopes to re-engage high-profile criminal defense attorney Alan Jackson, who initially represented him under “extraordinary circumstances.” [his] control” essentially forced a public defender to take over.
Jackson, who was in court with Wu, maintained Nick’s innocence even as he resigned from the case.
Judge Ruben Garcia made no decision on the trust money and set a next hearing on it for October 23.
Nick, who was not present at the hearing, is due back in court on September 15 at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center for a hearing on his murder charge.
He has been held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in LA since his arrest.
