Rita Ora has revealed that she proposed to husband Taika Waititi as the couple celebrated their first anniversary by sharing new details about their intimate marriage.
The couple tied the knot in an impromptu ceremony they planned in just two weeks with eight people in attendance, after Rita popped the question during a trip to Palm Springs.
Fashion shared a gallery of photos from the big day, with Rita revealing she wore three different looks from British designer Tom Ford as she and Taika exchanged vows at their Los Angeles home, despite reports that they had married in London.
Taika revealed, “She introduced me and I said ‘yes’ right away.”
Discussing the ceremony, the director added, “There were about eight people — just close friends and family, and parents on Zoom.”

Rita’s sister Elena was a bridesmaid, while Taika’s best friend, actor Jermaine Clement, came over from New Zealand for the ceremony.
For her big day, Rita wore an outfit from the British designer and said: ‘He’s one of my good friends now, and I adore and admire him immensely. Getting married in his dress was a dream come true.
“And because it wasn’t planned, I didn’t know if the right dress was going to be in town, and I just took the risk and went to the Tom Ford store, and they had it perfectly ready with the veil, in my size. no adjustments to be made.’
For the ceremony, Rita donned a gorgeous one-shoulder white lace dress paired with chunky platform soles.
The star then changed into a dramatic white dress with ruffles and a plunging neckline for the reception, before changing into a striking flared co-ord and lace bralet.
Rita further revealed that she wore her mother’s pearls with her wedding dress, while Taika wore a suit by Brunello Cucinelli.
Elena walked down the aisle with her sister, while Taika was accompanied by his two daughters at the ceremony.
After being declared husband and wife, the newlyweds went to their friend Guy Oseary’s house for a celebratory dinner, and were surprised with an Elvis impersonator who offered music for the proceedings.

In January, Rita finally confirmed that she and Taika had tied the knot after months of speculation, describing the marriage as “perfect” and a “special day.”
The hitmaker spoke on Heart Radio Breakfast to promote her latest single You Only Love Me shortly after posing topless to celebrate the release.
Rita said, “Yes (I’m married). I’m officially off the market folks. I’ve chosen to keep it more private and more to myself, but with my new video I’m playing on what could have been.”
She continued, “When the rumors came out, it’s her, isn’t it? I wanted to play on it. I wanted to do a wedding that didn’t go according to plan…that doesn’t mean it actually happened.”
Gushing about the big day, Rita said, “It was perfect. It was exactly, exactly as I wanted.’
“It was fun and perfect. It’s nice to just keep some things to myself, sometimes it was nice and sweet… Sorry, it’s not that interesting. One day I’m throwing a big party.’
Rita and Taika started dating after being good friends for years, with the star telling Tatler last month, “We became really good friends for about four years and then decided to fuck it all up and get married.
“I had never had a genuine friendship with anyone before I ended up with them. I honestly think it was the best way to get to know someone.’
She further confirmed that she is recruiting Taika to film her TikToks after eagle-eyed fans saw him behind the camera.
Rita said, “The fans say, ‘I bet Taika is filming that – good angle, Taika, well done’, ‘He’s the expert!”
