Melbourne Storm rising star Shawn Blore has pleaded not guilty to affray following an alleged incident in Sydney’s CBD.

After the NRL player was charged last month, a lawyer for the 24-year-old Blore appeared in court at Downing Centre on Wednesday.

His attorney Eugene Renard pleaded not guilty on his behalf, and Mr. Blore was acquitted.

He was charged with one count of affray following an alleged incident in Sydney’s CBD between 2am and 3am on July 8.

Mr Blore was arrested and subsequently released on bail on condition that he commit no further offences and refrain from consuming alcohol in a public place.

He was deployed alongside his brother Dean Blore, 25, who was himself once a promising young playmaker at Penrith.

Dean Blore, dressed in a white shirt and gray pants, sat in the second row of the court as his case was heard on Wednesday.

He also pleaded not guilty.

The case will return to court on October 16.

Blore played for the Wests Tigers before moving to the Melbourne Storm

Shawn Blore began his career with the Wests Tigers before moving to the Melbourne Storm this year. He has found the best form of his career under coach Craig Bellamy and has been a key cog in Melbourne’s march to the minor premiership.

Mr Blore was one of a number of Storm players rested this weekend and would not feature against North Queensland in Townsville on Thursday evening.
