Republicans WILL hold FBI Director Wray in contempt for REFUSING to hand over Biden doc

BREAKING NEWS: Republicans WILL despise FBI Director Wray for REFUSING to hand over document allegedly detailing Biden’s part in a $5 million bribery scheme involving a foreigner

Republicans are moving forward with contempt charges against FBI Director Chris Wray after he failed to turn over an internal document they say shows President Joe Biden was involved in a $5 million “criminal” scheme involving a foreigner.

Tuesday marked the deadline for the agency to turn over an internal unclassified FD-1023 form that apparently spells out an “arrangement” for exchanging money for policy decisions.

The Republicans issued a subpoena for the document last month and last week narrowed its scope by specifying two additional terms that could be referenced in the record: “June 30, 2020” and “five million.”

“Today the FBI has informed the committee that it will not provide the unclassified documents subpoenaed by the committee,” House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said Tuesday.

“The FBI’s decision to arm Congress rigidly and withhold this information from the American people is obstructive and unacceptable.”

Comer confirmed he will still call Wray and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Wednesday, and they plan to further discuss the FBI’s response.

“While I have scheduled a call with FBI Director Wray tomorrow to further discuss his response, the committee has been clear in its intent to protect Congressional oversight authorities and will now take steps to disregard the FBI Director’s contempt for the Congress because he refuses to obey. with a legal summons.”

“Americans deserve the truth, and the Oversight Committee will continue to demand transparency from this nation’s premier law enforcement agency.”

DailyMail.com has reached out to the FBI for comment.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy stated on Fox & Friends earlier Tuesday that Republicans were willing to continue with contempt proceedings.

“We have jurisdiction over the FBI, which seems to act as if we don’t. I personally called Director Wray and told him to send that document. Today is the deadline,” he added.

Comer officials, who are leading the investigation into “influence trading” by the first family, met with bureau officials a week ago who refused to hand over the file.

The White House pushed back, calling the Republican-led investigation “baseless” and “politically motivated.”

The FBI’s latest backstop also comes after a second whistleblower from the IRS came forward, claiming he was sidelined by the Hunter Biden investigation when he spoke about the president’s son receiving preferential treatment.

The agent, who has not been identified, says he was recently fired without explanation after working on the Hunter Biden investigation since 2018, according to documents sent to congressional leaders by DailyMail.com.

FBI Director Chris Wray has until May 30 to deliver the document to Republicans in Congress

“The information provided by a whistleblower raises concerns that then-Vice President Biden may have engaged in a bribery scheme involving a foreigner,” Comer said.

This is the second whistleblower to report on the matter in recent days.

According to documents, he informed Congress last week about the backlash he was experiencing for acting as a whistleblower and alleged unfair retaliation.

He emailed senior IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel and several other officials last Thursday claiming he had been ousted for raising concerns that the Justice Department acted “improperly” in its handling of the investigation into the son of the president.

His complaint comes days after the Justice Department removed the entire team investigating Hunter Biden’s tax returns, according to attorneys representing a first-time oversight whistleblower: Gary Shapley.

Shapley testified for six hours Friday before the GOP-led Ways and Means Committee, answering all questions from both Republicans and Democrats, DailyMail.com learned.
