In the wild new interview, Burchett, R-Tenn., echoed comments made by former Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C. Last year he was effectively blackmailed by his own party.
Burchett explained that “powerful people” who “write the big checks” are behind blackmail schemes to protect their wallets.
“Why on earth would good conservatives vote for crazy things like what we've seen in Congress?” he continued. 'This is how it works:'

“You're visiting, you're out of country or out of town or you're at a motel or at a bar in DC and whatever you're into – women, men, whatever – comes up and they're very attractive and they laugh at your jokes. And you treat them to a drink. Before you know it, you're standing naked in the motel room with them.
'Before you know it, you know you're about to have an important vote. And what happens? A well-dressed person comes out and whispers in your ear, “Hey man, you've got tapes on you.” Or, “Were you in a motel room or whatever with anyone?” And then you think, “Oh,” and (they) said, “You really shouldn't vote for this.”
“They know what to do,” Burchett said of the wealthy Americans pulling the strings he depicted. “You know, if it's women, drugs or booze, it'll find you.”
Burchett spoke with podcast host Benny Johnson, who had raised Senator Marsha Blackburn's requests to release Jeffrey Epstein's flight logs and client lists, only to be met with silence.
The freewheeling Republican, one of eight who ousted Kevin McCarthy from the speakership, also claimed Kevin Spacey's House of Cards was more like a documentary than fiction.
It was only last March that Cawthorn drew gasps from across Congress — and was reprimanded by then-Republican leader Kevin McCarthy — for claiming he had been invited to cocaine orgies. He later lost a primary.
“The sexual perversion that's happening in Washington… being a young guy in Washington, where the average age is probably 60 or 70, I look at all these people – many of them I've looked up to throughout my life. life… then suddenly you're invited to say, “Well, we're going to have some kind of sexual get-together in one of our houses.” You should come, 'like, where did you just ask me to come? And then you realize they're asking you to come to an orgy.'

“There are some people who are leading the movement to try to eradicate addiction in our country, and then you see them put a big dose of cocaine in front of you and it's like, wow, this is wild.”
Burchett's comments also come as not one but two sex tape incidents have been reported to have taken place in the hallowed halls of Congress.
The first was distributed after it was filmed in a Senate hearing room and led to the firing of a young aide to Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md. Another pair of tapes reportedly sparked an investigation in the office of Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., although no staffer was ever definitively linked to the tapes.
One of the 2022 videos allegedly showed a man pleasuring himself in a House office building, identified by standard Capitol House furniture and carpeting, as well as a branded mouse pad. A second video shows two men engaging in sexual activity in another office setting. Their faces are not visible.
