Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti hits back at complaints over Bayern Munich’s disallowed goal as he claims Nacho’s strike should also have stood as Joshua Kimmich ‘dived’

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti insists Bayern Munich have no right to feel offended over their disallowed goal in Wednesday’s dramatic Champions League semi-final, as his side also had one wrongly disallowed.

Ancelotti’s side found themselves in serious trouble when Alphonso Davies gave Bayern the lead in the second half with a brilliant goal.

However, Madrid staged another miraculous comeback as Joselu came off the bench to score twice in the space of three minutes as the match entered stoppage time.

The visiting side almost took the match to extra time when Matthijs de Ligt swept the ball home in the 13th minute of extra time, but it was ruled out for questionable offside in the build-up.

De Ligt and manager Thomas Tuchel expressed their outrage at the decision after the match, but Ancelotti has reminded fans that his side was also on the wrong side of a controversial bit of management.

Madrid thought they had equalized minutes after Davies broke the deadlock when Nacho turned Federico Valverde’s shot into the net.

Joshua Kimmich went down immediately and claimed a push from Nacho in the build-up, with the Bayern players rushing the referee to claim a foul and VAR agreeing there had been a foul.

After the match he said: ‘Bayern complained about offside? Okay, so we’re complaining about Nacho’s goal being called off… because Kimmich dived.

‘If they complain about that, we can complain about our disallowed goal. Both players pushed each other and it is Nacho who is punished.’

The LaLiga champions will now take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley and have a chance to win a third trophy of the season, having also won the Spanish Super Cup.
