Real Housewives of New Jersey star Lauren Manzo addresses her divorce from Vito Scalia: ‘This has been done for a very long time’

Lauren Manzo took to her Instagram on Tuesday to discuss her husband Vito Scalia’s decision to file for divorce in September after eight years of marriage.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 35, posted a candid video in which she opened up about being in Italy for her brother’s wedding, addressing her and Scalia’s, 37, breakup.

The reality TV beauty said the marriage “has been going on for a long time” and the divorce was something the couple decided on together.

She revealed that they had not announced it publicly due to the privacy of their six-year-old daughter Marchesa.

‘By now you have seen the news that has broken out. I just want to let you know: we are all doing well. This has been happening for a long time,” she said at the beginning of the clip.

‘That is it. It’s about our daughter and her privacy, because she didn’t ask to be on TV, we did.’

In the video’s caption, she simply left a red heart emoji.

Scalia cited “irreconcilable differences” with Manzo in divorce papers he filed in New Jersey on September 5. The sun reported on Monday.

Scalia, a restauranteur, said in court papers that he and Manzo had ongoing problems “for a period of at least six months,” which led to “the breakdown of their marriage.”

Scalia said in the court documents – which were handed to Manzo on September 29 – that it was “clear that the marriage should be dissolved” as “there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation.”

Days after Manzo received the divorce papers, The Sun reported, an attorney representing the reality star told the court that he would represent her regarding future legal proceedings involving custody and support.

Manzo’s attorney said he oversaw “all financial matters, including but not limited to alimony, equitable distribution and attorneys’ fees,” the newspaper reported.

The Sun reported that Scalia filed a marital settlement agreement with the court last July, prior to filing for divorce.

Manzo, who revealed earlier this year that she has lost 70 pounds, indirectly touched on the subject of her marital problems last summer when a fan asked her on social media where Scalia had been.

Manzo said she was allowed to “keep aspects of (her) life private, especially after having a child,” according to The Sun.

The Sun reported that “it appears the former couple are still living together in Wayne, New Jersey,” as their addresses were identical in divorce documents.

The couple initially exchanged vows in June 2015 at St. Cyril’s Church in New York City, followed by a reception at The Brownstone Restaurant in Paterson, New Jersey.
