Lorenzo ‘Lozzy’ Schiavello, son of Real Housewives of Melbourne star Lydia, jailed after vile abuse against a former lover – and it’s not the first time

The son of Melbourne reality TV star Lydia Schiavello has been jailed after bombarding his former lover with vicious abuse.

Lorenzo “Lozzy” Schiavello, 29, was sentenced to 28 days in jail after pleading guilty to using a carriage service to intimidate.

His famous mother Lydia starred alongside Melbourne stars Jackie Gillies, Chyka Keebaugh, Janet Roach, Gamble Breaux, Gina Liano and Pettifleur Berenger in the reality show Real Housewives of Melbourne.

It is not the first time that Schiavello has been jailed for cowardly attacks on women.

He spent a fortnight in jail in 2017 after breaching a community corrections order he had received at the time for stalking the same victim.

Schiavello, a painter by trade, appeared stunned when he had to leave his fiancée Caitlin Holland-Symons in court and was escorted out by two burly security guards.

He had hoped to walk free again on a new community corrections order.

But instead, magistrate James Henderson convicted him for his miserable behavior towards women.

“Mr. Schiavello, you should know that women are not your assets to be harassed and humiliated if they do not show reciprocal interest in you,” he said.

The court heard Schiavello started a hate campaign against his ex-girlfriend after she gave him another chance despite his last court appearance.

In 2015, Schiavello was labeled a bully by a magistrate after he posted nude photos of her on Facebook.

He hooked her back into his web in December 2022 after messaging her on Instagram.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, realized her mistake almost immediately.

“I’ll never let you go again,” Schiavello told her. ‘There is no one else for me. I will marry you. No one else will have you and you will be mine.”

The woman asked him to leave, sparking a hate campaign against her jilted lover.

The court heard Schiavello began harassing her via Instagram and set up multiple accounts to abuse and intimidate her.

“Regardless of the mess we had, you can come and get the shoes I bought you,” he wrote.

When she attended a St. Kilda party, Schiavello used another fake account to attack her.

‘You are without a doubt a slut… Happy New Year. You look quite basic and you don’t belong in this crowd,” he wrote.

Schiavello was arrested on January 14 last year and initially charged with stalking.

The court heard Schiavello claimed he was abused as a child after his father split with his reality show mother when he was six.

He further struggled with bouts of drug abuse, using cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy, LSD and methamphetamines.

A forensic psychiatrist told the court that Schiavello had a habit of mistreating women.

“Mr. Schiavello has a history of pursuing former partners regardless of their wishes and is oblivious to or indifferent to their reactions,” she told the court.

At sentencing, Mr Henderson said Schiavello deserved nothing less than an immediate prison sentence.

“In my view, the seriousness of this offense and your personal circumstances mean that a custodial sentence is necessary to achieve the purposes of sentencing,” he said.
