Radio star Brendan Jones opens up about his own Baby Reindeer experience with an obsessive fan: ‘She knew where I lived’

WSFM breakfast presenter Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones has opened up about his own stalker experience for the first time.

The radio host, 56, was discussing new Netflix series Baby Reindeer, based on a comedian’s experience with an obsessive fan, when he revealed he once had two female stalkers.

“You know, I had a stalker once. I had… two ladies. There was one many years ago, and she just wouldn’t let go. She simply continued under a different name. It was very scary. Very scary,” he told co-hosts Amanda Keller and Emma Gillespie.

‘She knew where I lived. She knew everything. And then I caught her and so she had a fake name: Cassandra. And I found out her real name.”

Jonesy recalled how the stalker would call the radio station every night he was at work.

He shared an incident where “Cassandra” called the station hunting for a prize when he answered the phone: “I just got cold. I felt a chill and then I said, “Cassandra?” I have her entire address and everything about her.’

“After she was discovered, I never heard from her again,” he added.

The Netflix series Baby Reindeer delves into the real-life stalking ordeal and brutal sexual abuse of comedian Richard Gadd as he plays a fictionalized version of himself named Donny Dunn.

Donny is flooded with 41,071 emails, 744 tweets, 350 voicemails and 106 pages of letters from stalker Martha (Jessica Gunning).

The series also chronicles Donny’s horrific rape by his comedic mentor Darrien, played by Tom Goodman-Hill.

Darrien convinces Donny to come to his apartment and get high on drugs, promising him that TV producers are interested in his work. But while on drugs, he sexually assaults Donny several times.

Richard has made it clear that he has changed the names and specific details of the story to protect the identities of those involved.
