Rachel is currently hard at work on the upcoming superhero film Superman, in which she will play Lois Lane.
The upcoming film will follow the Man of Steel as he tries to balance the lessons he learned during his upbringing in Kansas with his Kryptonian abilities.
Development on the project initially began in the mid-2010s, although James Gunn did not reveal he was writing the script until November 2022, signing on to direct the film in March last year.
Superman will be played by David Corenswet, while the role of his arch-enemy, Lex Luthor, will be played by Nicholas Hoult.
Other performers such as Isabela Merced, Anthony Carrigan and Nathan Fillion will round out the film’s cast.
Brosnahan was cast as Lois Lane, Superman’s love interest, last June.
The actress recently spoke to Entertainment tonight and said the new Superman film would provide certain updates on the source material while paying tribute to the DC Comics character’s legacy.
“We love putting our own spin on things and honoring the material we love,” she said.

Brosnahan further stated that much of the feature film’s cast and crew were die-hard fans of the Man of Steel.
“Every person involved in this production is such a perfect nerd for Superman. We all grew up watching movies. Some of us were reading the comics. So I feel like it’s made with so much love,” she said.
The artist added that the new version of Superman would “have a sense of humor” and that Lane would be “feisty, wonderful and fiercely intelligent.”
Superman is currently scheduled to premiere on July 11, 2025.
