Rachael Finch hits back at cruel mother-shaming slur after making a ‘controversial’ change to her children’s meals: ‘I have no words’

Rachael Finch has hit back at cruel trolls after they branded her with a cruel mother-shaming slur and wildly accused her of ‘underfeeding’ her children on a ‘strict’ diet.

The model, 35, often gives insight into her cooking skills and regularly shows off the healthy meals she has prepared for her children Violet, eight, and Dominic, five.

However, Rachael revealed she has been called an “almond mom” and accused of “endangering” her children after sharing a video of herself making naked burgers for her kids.

“Almond mom” is a negative term used to criticize someone for allegedly pushing disordered and unhealthy eating on their family, and is often used hyperbolically to refer to parents who are “obsessed” with healthy eating.

Rachael hit back at trolls who cruelly labeled her with the mom-shaming slur, as she criticized their “nasty” comments and branded the bizarre accusation as “hilarious.”

Sharing a photo of herself cuddling with her two children, whom she shares with her dancer husband Michael Miziner, she passionately wrote, “Someone officially labeled me ‘almond mom’ this week.”

‘Definition according to Google: ‘a parent who follows incredibly strict or dangerously unhealthy eating habits and tries to force them on their children’.

‘This was because I was making naked burgers for dinner (meat patty and veggies packed in a lettuce cup).

“While it’s downright nasty, it’s also absurdly hilarious. I have now become a pro at responding emotionally to these comments.

“I’ve giggled with a lot of you about what kind of mother you would be if you were labeled with a food. Comment what kind of food **** Mama would you be?’

Rachael’s comments come after she was accused of ‘malnourishing’ her children after making them naked burgers wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun.

In one video, she was shown preparing mini beef burgers with vegetables – including pickles, carrots and arugula – smashed avocado and tomato sauce for her children.

She put the ingredients in a lettuce cup, instead of a sandwich, but was widely criticized for giving her children ‘disordered eating’ with the healthy meal.

Rachael responded to the criticism at the time, claiming that the trolls wouldn’t complain if she fed her kids fast food every day.

She said angrily: ‘Apparently I’m giving my kids ‘disordered food’ by making them naked burgers. According to comments on my last Tik Tok video…

‘Wow, wise. It’s funny, you know: they wouldn’t blink if I ordered cheeseburgers and fries from a fast food chain and brought it to the table. But homemade nude burgers full of vegetables will cause psychological damage? Go figure.”

The former Miss Universe has a huge passion for health and rarely allows her children to eat processed or sugary foods.

She rarely feeds her children processed foods and said her daughter Violet didn’t know what sugar tasted like until she was three years old.

The doting mum often shares her healthy home-cooked meals on Instagram, which has repeatedly prompted cruel trolls to comment on her children’s diets.

Rachael has repeatedly responded to the allegations, urging trolls to keep “potentially damaging” comments about her family to themselves.

Last month Rachael appeared on Extra today to address a hateful message she received from a cruel troll who accused her of starving her children.

Speaking to presenters Sylvia Jeffreys and David Campbell, she said she ‘welcomes constructive criticism’ but that strangers talking about her children is ‘crossing the line’.

‘I don’t avoid criticism, I welcome constructive criticism. Especially in our industry because that helps us get better,” she said.

‘But when it comes to personal attacks, that crosses the line. Especially about your children.’

She went on to say that trolls on Instagram only “see a snippet of your life” and don’t get a bigger picture of what’s happening at home.

She also revealed exactly what her two children usually eat in a day and insisted she feeds them ‘normal food’.

“I make every breakfast, lunch and dinner from scratch,” she explained. “So for breakfast I might make homemade waffles with rice flour and our protein powder.

‘I put eggs on toast, I do smoothies. I make a pasta with rice and quinoa with grilled fish and vegetables. Normal stuff.”
