A VIt was a productive week for Rachael Blackmore and the ‘Serial Winners Fund’, with a further £15,000 added to the pot thanks to wins over Majestic Force, Senior Chief and Lantry Lady.

The fund currently stands at £175,000 and is heading comfortably towards the £250,000 mark.

Honestly launched its unique charity initiative, the ‘Rachael Blackmore – Serial Winners Fund’, in aid of both the ‘Injured Jockey Fund’ and the ‘Irish Injured Jockeys’ on Betfair Chase Day last November.

They started the fund with an initial donation of £100,000 and added another £5,000 each time Rachel Blackmore rides a winner.

The fund currently stands at £175,000 and is expected to reach £250,000 on the Big National Day, Saturday April 13, when the fund comes to an end.

Fairytale house (Saturday)

1.30 – Theater Native

Theater Native was disappointing on her hurdles debut in Clonmel in November but her blood levels were wrong afterwards, it just wasn’t her running. Since then she has had a nice holiday and is now in good shape at home.

It looked like she would win point-to-point ahead of Donnchadh Doyle, she was clear on the last when she fell. She is a sweet mare, she has worked well and hopefully she can put her last run behind her.

4.25 – Brampton Belle

Brampton Belle hasn’t run since November either, but she is also fine at home. She’s wearing cheek pieces for the first time here, and I think they will help her, they can help her hone her jumping.

She ran well in Galway on her season debut, continuing well to finish third in a two-mile, six-and-a-half furlong handicap chase. She’s going to be traveling here, but she’s staying healthy and doing well on the ground, so I hope she’s doing well.

Naas (Sunday)

2.25 – Shantreusse

Shantreusse ran well for a long way in the Thyestes Chase, but it looked like he might not quite make it home. He’s on a journey back here, to two and a half miles.

He won a Class 3 race over five kilometers on tough terrain as a novice hurdler, but he completed this run well in Navan on his season debut, so hopefully he can get back on track here.

3.25 – Champagne Mahler

Champagne Mahler won well at Gowran Park last time, and the race is already going well, with the runner-up winning a 2lb higher at Clonmel last week. He seemed to love the ground and the journey there, and he is back from the same journey and on similar ground here.

He now has an 11lb handicap more than he did then, and he is higher in rank, but he is progressive and goes into the race in good form.

3.55 – Ladybank

Ladybank is a sweet mare. Last year she was partnered by Princess Zoe in a maiden hurdle over two and a half miles at Punchestown, and in March she took her chance in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.

She was badly beaten on her debut this season over two miles in October and hasn’t run since, but we hope there’s plenty more to come from her. She’s getting her tongue stuck for the first time here, which should help, and the step up in the trip should be good. She has a nice light weight and hopefully she can run a good race.
