What are the factors that make Quordle difficult? Well, repeated letters would be one, unusual letters another, unusual words a third, and words with too many possible solutions a fourth. And today’s match has three of those four complications.
None can be considered unusual, but the Z in WALTZ immediately makes that quadrant more difficult to solve, as do the repeated Ss in STASH and FUSSY, and the Es in REEDY. These three could easily be other words: SMASH/SWASH/SLASH for the first, PUSSY for the second, and WEEDY/NEEDY/SEEDY for the third.
It shouldn’t come as a huge shock that it took me all nine guesses to solve today’s game, although I made at least one rather bad mistake while solving WALTZ. Yet at that moment I was so confused that I didn’t quite know what I was doing…
