Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth has resigned from the top job, becoming the latest high-profile member of the airline to quit.

Ms Wirth has been chief executive of Qantas Loyalty, which includes the airline’s frequent flyer programme, since 2018 and will officially leave in February 2024.

She was first hired by the national airline in July 2009 as head of corporate affairs and government relations.

Ms Wirth will join Myer as a non-executive director after being nominated for her “significant expertise in a range of areas aligned with key elements of Myer’s customer focus”.

The announcement is the latest of senior executives to leave Qantas after chairman Richard Goyder announced he would step down next year.

Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Worth has resigned from the top job, becoming the latest high-profile member of the airline to quit.

In a notice to the ASX announcing her departure, Ms Wirth said she was ‘truly grateful’ for her time at the national carrier.

“Qantas has been a massive part of my professional life and I am truly grateful for the opportunities I have been given over the years,” Ms Wirth wrote.

“At its core, Qantas is an incredible company and brand and I’ve loved being a part of it.

“I’m extremely proud of what the team at Loyalty has achieved and look forward to delivering more improvements to members before I leave.”

Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson described Ms Wirth’s impact on the airline as ‘enormous’.

“As CEO of Loyalty, she drove a major expansion of what the program offers and it shows in the growth of members and their engagement levels,” Ms. Hudson wrote.

“During Covid, Loyalty was one of the few parts of our business that could continue, which required a lot of work and imagination.
