Pulp Fiction stars John Travolta and Uma Thurman reunite with director Quentin Tarantino in the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The trio were among the stars in attendance at the glamorous event and took a selfie to commemorate their reunion – which took place during the film’s 30th anniversary.

Thurman looked glamorous in a brown satin dress with a draped neck as she sat next to the Grease actor and Reservoir Dogs director – after walking the red carpet with Tarantino.

During the ceremony, Tarantino was honored with the Luminary Award, an artist whose “unique contributions have expanded the creative possibilities of cinema.”

The award was presented to him by star Travolta, who praised his former director’s contributions to the industry.

Tarantino donated his first handwritten draft of the script for 1994’s Pulp Fiction to the museum while he was giving his speech to the audience.

Travolta looked dapper in a black suit jacket paired with a high-neck sweater for the evening, while Tarantino wore a tuxedo.

It comes next Samuel L Jackson showed that he can still recite his character’s famous speech in Ezekiel 25:17, amore than thirty years since he recorded Pulp Fiction.

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the release of the now classic crime film, the legendary actor shared a video of himself sitting on a couch and delivering his famous lines during the intense interrogation scene.

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequality of the selfish and the tyranny of wicked men,” he begins right at the top of the clip. “Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill guides the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of the lost children.”

He continued, “And I will strike you with great vengeance and fierce anger; those who seek to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I take vengeance on you.”

‘You know I still have it!!! EZEKIEL 25:17 HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY TO PULP FICTION,” Jackson, 75, wrote in the caption of the post.

In fact, Jackson’s Jules Winnfield uses the fictional Bible verse Ezekiel 25:17 as a way to justify his violent actions as a kind of “enforcer” before justice is meted out to those who deserve punishment.

Jules even recites Ezekiel 25:17 several times throughout the film, which stars John Travolta as Vincent Vegas, Jules’ partner in crime who both work for Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames).

The first time occurs early in the film when Jules and Vincent are sent to kill Brett (Frank Whaley) in a small apartment with three others inside, although one is hiding in the bathroom.

“Do you read the Bible,” Jules asks as he stands in a black suit and tie and his victim sits on a chair. “Well, there’s a passage I’ve memorized; kind of fits this occasion. Ezekiel 25:17,” and he then begins reading his speech, which gets louder and more intense until he finishes and then shoots Brett dead.

The speech is often considered one of the best monologues in cinema.

The crime film, written and directed by Tarantino based on a story he co-created with Roger Avary, tells four intertwined stories about crime and violence in Los Angeles.

The film went on to win the Palme d’Or at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival and was a major critical and commercial success, grossing $213.9 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of between $8 and 8.5 million.

It comes after Samuel L. Jackson showed he can still recite his character’s famous speech in Ezekiel 25:17, more than three decades since he recorded Pulp Fiction.

Together with Roth, Plummer, Jackson and Travolta, who contributed to a career revival in the wake of all the success, the cast includes Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Maria de Medeiros, Ving Rhames, Eric Stoltz, Rosanna Arquette, Christopher Walken and Bruce Willis.

Its many awards and accolades included an Academy Award for Best Screenplay – Written Directly for the Screen for Tarantino and Avary out of the seven nominations it received, such as Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Travolta and Best Supporting Actor for Jackson.

The title refers to the pulp magazines and hard-boiled crime novels that were popular in the mid-20th century and were known for their graphic violence and snappy dialogue.

Pulp Fiction is widely regarded as Tarantino’s magnum opus, and has remained so ever since selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
