PSG hoped to further renovate the stadium, but Hidalgo is only willing to lease the Parque de los Príncipes.

The club has been exploring alternatives, including the Stade de France, but it was canceled due to its high cost.

The conflict between PSG and the Paris City Council began during the World Cup, when owner Nasser Al Khelaifi spoke about plans to renovate the stadium.

Councilor Pierre Rabadan, who is also acting as deputy for Paris 2024, said he was “not surprised” by PSG’s move and confirmed that a new meeting will take place.

‘As you know, we are waiting to meet again. We have positioned ourselves to renew the dialogue,’ she said.

‘The date has not yet been set, but in any case we will have to talk. It seems to me that now it is necessary to resume discussions. Therefore, we are waiting for this date to move forward.”
