A protester has set himself on fire on a tennis court just before Roger Federer is due to play his last ever game on the 02 in a shocking incident.
The climate activist stuck his right arm in the middle of the court to protest the use of private jets in the UK.
The 20-year-old protester, named Kai, is a member of the End UK Private Jets group, which claims that ‘carbon emissions by 2022 are genocide’.
Tennis legend Roger Federer will play the last game of his storied career at the Laver Cup in London later today on the pitch.
Yesterday tennis icons Andy Murray, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic all played on the same court with Federer in a doubles match at the tournament.

The man named Kai looked upset, but his arm didn’t seem to have been damaged by the fire
Security was finally able to drag the man away to allow the match between Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman to go ahead
Federer and Nadal will play together tonight in the Laver Cup doubles final against Americans Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.
The climate activist interrupted the second set of a men’s singles match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Schwartzman.
He set himself on fire and grimaced as the flames licked his arm, but it seemed to do him no harm.
He rubbed his arm to extinguish the flames as he sat on the tennis court as security rushed to grab him and eventually dragged him away.
The man has appeared in several videos in the past explaining his tough stance on climate activism.
Right after Kai’s stunt, End UK Private Jets posted a video on Twitter explaining why he would set his arm on fire.
He said, ‘In a few hours I’m going to the Laver Cup tennis tournament and set my arm on fire on the court.
“People are going to say things like ‘this is terrible’, people in the stadium will be disturbed, and everyone who hears about it will be really traumatized, especially if they’ve had experiences with things like self-harm.
“Feelings of anger about this… I think it’s right to be angry about that, because it’s unjust for people to experience suffering.
“Humanity should have a responsibility to stop that kind of shit, nobody deserves to experience suffering, especially young and vulnerable people.
“If we really believe that… the way we’re pretending that’s true is by stopping the climate crisis as soon as possible.
“Because we are now on a path where hundreds of millions of people are going through unimaginable suffering, namely social collapse, torture, famine, drought and war and things like that.”
