Professional cleaner who has cleaned over 1,000 homes reveals the one feature she would never have in her home: ‘It’s a nightmare to clean’

An Australian professional cleaner has revealed the ‘worst’ place to clean after working on thousands of homes.

The cleaner, who comes by @cleanlikeapro online, claimed that mirrored backsplashes in kitchens were a “nightmare” to properly maintain.

A backsplash is a layer installed above and behind the sink and stove to protect walls from moisture, food residue, grease and oil.

The woman cautioned against falling victim to their pristine mirrored appearances in showrooms, as the reality of the feature is far worse.

Mirrored backsplashes are extremely difficult to keep spotless as they reflect every speck of dust and water back into the room.

The professional cleaner was safe in her opinion.

“I don’t care how good these look in a showroom – don’t let anyone convince you that a mirrored back wall is a good idea,” she said.

The woman posted a video of the dirt and grit holding the mirror — and how a few spots that would have gone into a marble feature instead make the entire kitchen look dingy.

“Mirror backsplashes are a nightmare, especially if there’s a cooktop or sink on top.”

“As someone who has cleaned thousands of homes and seen hundreds of mirrored backsplashes, these are never a good idea,” she said.

Her main problem stemmed from the possibility of streaking and smearing, despite being clean.

“I don’t care how clean you are, these always look awful,” the pro claimed.

Many agreed with the cleaner’s opinion and shared bad experiences with mirrored backs.

“I can’t think of anything worse than watching myself doing the dishes or cooking,” said one woman.

“I have one and as someone who suffers from OCD they are the worst.”

“Any back wall that isn’t tile is a terrible idea unless you enjoy cleaning 24/7.”

“They are only beautiful right after cleaning.”

But others defended their decision.

“I don’t agree with that at all,” objected one woman. I have them and they are flawless.’

‘I love mine. It’s easier to wipe clean with window cleaner than scrubbing grubby grout and tiles.”
