Hunter Biden will have to learn to be a “small fish in a big pond” if he is jailed, a leading prison consultant has said.
The president’s son could serve any prison sentence in one of five federal prison camps at current or former military bases across the country.
He would be best advised to be “productive” by getting a job, perhaps in a prison law library, and not to violate inmate protocol by trying to change the TV channel.
Hunter would get 510 minutes of phone time per month and be required to stand by his bedside twice a day for the counts.
Prison counselor Sam Mangel told DailyMail.com: ‘It can be humiliating. One of the worst problems is boredom.’

Hunter was convicted of three felonies on Tuesday.
A jury in Wilmington, Delaware, found him guilty of two counts of lying on a federal government form to purchase a gun, and one count of possessing the firearm while abusing drugs.
He is expected to be sentenced in about four months.
The maximum statutory penalty is 25 years in prison, but there is a good chance he will not receive a custodial sentence.
However, he faces a second tax trial in September in California, which could lead to a harsher sentence.
Mangel said Hunter will be allowed to go to one of five minimum federal prison camps on what are or were now military bases.
They are located in Pensacola, Florida, Montgomery, Alabama, Morgantown, West Virginia, Duluth, Minnesota and Yankton, South Dakota.

Instead of dormitories, these prisons have facilities that are more like student dormitories or small rooms, which would mean they could be better protected and house his secret service.
“People will be very curious about him,” Mangel said. “They will be thirsty for the knowledge he can bring. In a camp there is a significant number who may have been in prison for 10 to 20 years and come to a camp.
“He has been exposed to a life that 99.999 percent will never have happened. He can share stories with other prisoners. He will be looked up to by some, but there will also be a significant group who may be more conservative and may not have as much respect for him.”
However, he said the chances of a fight or physical attack would be “extremely low.”
“If you do something stupid, people will retaliate. They might throw food on your bed, but it’s usually not physical.”

He said: ‘I advise all my clients that they want to be a small fish in a big pond and not stand out.
‘It’s good to be productive, so find a job you have experience in, perhaps in the law library.
“Some people want to work on the military base, and it’s a change of scenery every day.”

Hunter would receive 510 minutes a month of phone calls and access to email from prison.
“Given who he is, they’ll be watching him. He has to be careful,” Mangel said.
He will have to stand by his bedside at 4pm and 10pm for the inmate count.
Hunter could go to AA meetings, and if he goes through the federal Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) program, that could lead to sentence exemption.
“He’ll be able to watch TV, he won’t necessarily be able to change the channel because there’s a protocol in place,” Mangel said.
Any attack on Hunter would be a “catastrophe for the Bureau of Prisons, so it is clear that he will be more carefully monitored and will ultimately be safe.”

He said the most important thing for Hunter is the probation attendance report prepared by the probation office.
Even if he is not in prison for the gun crimes, the report could be used later after a possible conviction on the tax charges.
It’s important to bring up details in that interview, including regrets.
“That (report) is the bible for him in the future. It determines where he could serve, what programs he could be eligible for,” Mangel said.
‘He will not receive a second preliminary investigation, that report will inform a future conviction. You only get one bite of the apple.’
