Eye-watering price of Mark Zuckerberg’s ultra-luxury watch as he completes MAGA makeover

For Mark Zuckerberg, time is money… and a lot of it.

Meta’s CEO was spotted wearing a nearly $1 million Swiss watch during his video announcing that all of the company’s platforms will stop third-party fact-checking before Donald Trump retakes the White House.

The Facebook founder wore a Greubel Forsey ‘Hand Made 1’ on his left wrist in the five-minute video message shared on his Facebook profile.

The watch is extremely rare; the company only makes two or three a year. It retails for an eye-watering $895,500 before taxes.

The model is made almost entirely from components built by Greubel Forsey engineers. It can take hundreds of hours to assemble and handcraft each watch.

“It is a pleasure to see someone who has played such a crucial role in shaping the modern digital landscape and lifestyle show his true appreciation for the most traditional approach to contemporary watchmaking,” said Michel Nydegger, CEO of Greubel Forsey. told Bloomberg.

Zuckerberg’s appreciation for watches was clearly on display when he marveled at fellow billionaire Anant Ambani’s $1 million timepiece at his pre-wedding party in March.

Ambani, who would marry Radhika Merchant later that year in a six-day traditional Indian wedding ceremony in Mumbai, showed off his luxurious Richard Mille to Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan.

“You know, I’ve never really wanted a watch, but when I saw that I thought, ‘Watches are cool,'” Zuckerberg said in a video taken at the lavish event, while his wife joked that she “might would like to.’

Zuckerberg has since been spotted wearing watches from Patek Philippe and FP Journe.

Meta’s CEO turned the social media landscape upside down on Tuesday when he announced that Facebook, Instagram and Threads would no longer practice fact-checking and would instead move to a “community notes” model used on Elon’s X platform Musk.

Like X, the shift will allow users on the sites to post messages that may be misleading and need more context.

The missive appears to be part of an entire court press to change Meta, social media and the Internet itself for the second Trump era.

Zuckerberg threatened governments in Europe, South America and China that Meta would “work with President Trump to push back against foreign governments that go after American companies to censor more.”

He claimed that foreign governments have demanded that Facebook be censored or even taken down and that they will work with Trump to stop this.

Trump said Meta has “come a long way” when asked about the changes Zuckerberg had made to his social platforms.

Meta also said it will move its trust and security teams from liberal California to more conservative Texas, following Musk’s recent moves.

“That will help us build trust to do this work in places where there are fewer concerns about bias from our teams,” Zuckerberg said.

The shift came as the 40-year-old tycoon has made efforts to reconcile with Trump since his election in November, including donating $1 million to his inauguration fund.

The policy change and donation came after Zuckerberg sat down with the president-elect for dinner at Mar-a-Lago in November.

On Monday, in another olive branch, Zuckerberg added Dana White, a longtime friend of Trump, to Meta’s board of directors.

Last week, Meta also named Joel Kaplan, an executive with deep GOP connections, as president of global affairs.
