There is no scientific evidence that eating spicy foods can induce labor.
It comes after Joel walked around with Hannah cradling her baby bump on the National Television Awards red carpet last Tuesday.
The star and his wife caused a storm on the red carpet before taking to the stage at London’s O2 Arena to host the 28th National Television Awards.
For the occasion, Joel cut a suave figure in a soft tuxedo, consisting of smart black trousers, a white shirt, a black bow tie and a cream blazer.
Meanwhile, his pregnant wife Hannah showed off her baby bump in a fitted black dress with pearls embellished on the straps.
Joel affectionately cradled his wife’s baby bump as they both smiled and laughed as they posed on the red carpet, counting down the days until the arrival of their first child.
Joel previously told how NTA bosses had a crisis plan in place in case his heavily pregnant wife Hannah gave birth during the ceremony, with a second host on standby.
But the back-up plan was not needed and Joel successfully led the show, with Holly Willoughby saying on This Morning on Wednesday that they had not heard any baby news from Joel yet.

Plans: Joel previously told how NTA bosses had drawn up a crisis plan in case his heavily pregnant wife Hannah goes into labor during the ceremony, with a second host on standby
Speaking about the crisis plan ahead of the ceremony, Joel told how a standby presenter would wait in the wings in case he had to leave the stage midway through the ceremony.
He told Fleur East on her Hits Radio Breakfast Show: ‘Hannah is completely ready to give birth! She hasn’t given birth yet, so that’s great news for me because I’m sure the production team will be ready to replace me at any moment.”
Joel continued, “I think I have a stand-in, but they won’t tell me who it is. I assume they’ll be there tonight, but that’s the best thing about the NTAs: if it happens during the ceremony, anyone who could replace me will be right there in front of me!’
He went on to reveal another reason why Hannah won’t be on the red carpet, explaining: ‘Right now we think she’s just going to hang out in the dressing room because – I’ll be honest on Hits Radio – we could do that. can’t find a dress.
“And she’s so pregnant now – she’s 6 feet tall and basically has another human being under her belly – and dresses don’t come in that size. When you put them on you look like Mrs. Doubtfire.”
Joel previously revealed he would be skipping the NTA’s official after-party to have his own post-awards bash with his heavily pregnant wife.

Joel told MailOnline exclusively in 2021: ‘I love working with Hannah, I really do. She’s so naturally cheerful, funny and likeable, which is something I’ve had to work on for fifteen years, and it just comes naturally to her, which is very frustrating.
“She’s great and I love working with her, so hopefully we’ll do more together in the years to come.”
