‘When I first heard your question, I wanted to be honest, because this was my sister. However, he really didn’t know what to say. The first thing I thought was: “Why not?”

So I turned to my sister and said, “Sure, if the animal doesn’t get hurt.” However, she technically does, limiting vegans to not eating cultured meat.

After speaking with her doctor, Lawley transitioned to a vegan diet that included “giant omega 3-packed green smoothies” to alleviate her symptoms.

Lab-grown meat, also known as cultured meat, is commonly considered a cruelty-free and more ethical alternative to current meat production.

However, while the process requires fewer animals than livestock, it is still required that they be raised for the sole purpose of harvesting cells for meat production.
