President Joe Biden will deliver his final State of the Union address as president of the United States on Thursday if he fails to win re-election later this year.
That means the stakes for this speech are extremely high.
Opinion polls show that Americans are not confident the 81-year-old leader will be an effective president in a second term because of his age.
And while Biden — as U.S. senator and then vice president — always had a reputation for being prone to gaffes, the verbal slip-ups are now giving political opponents more fodder.
Thanks to its timing, Biden’s speech will serve as a table setter for the 2024 general election, with Super Tuesday results set to defeat former President Donald Trump’s final opponent, the former U.N. ambassador. Nikki Haley, out of the GOP primary on Wednesday.
The White House has remained tight-lipped about the content of the speech, but DailyMail.com has put together a bingo card of some of his favorite Bidenisms, including folksy sayings, well-known anecdotes and the blank space reserved for a gaffe.
It also includes a number of Biden speech ticks, including when he goes from a booming voice to a whisper, or when he coughs while making remarks.
The president spent the weekend with his team at Camp David to massage his speech.
He arrived back at the White House on Tuesday as workers were erecting large fences around the Capitol complex across Pennsylvania Avenue.
He is likely to discuss the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the economy, abortion and the southern border, following a recent visit.
It is less clear whether he will call Trump by name.
In previous speeches, Biden called the former president a “loser” — meaning he lost the 2020 race, something Trump still denies.
The president could also bring up his childhood favorite Cookie Monster in Thursday night’s speech, after the classic Sesame Street character complained about “shrinkflation.”

‘I hate shrinkflation! My cookies are getting smaller,” the Muppet had posted on X.
The president discussed the issue at the White House on Tuesday.
“I’ll tell you who did notice: the Cookie Monster. He pointed out that his cookies are getting smaller, but they pay the same price. “I was stunned when I found out this had happened,” Biden said.
Changes will be made until he delivers it, speaking for the first time before a conference led by House Speaker Mike Johnson.
Johnson has told his members to keep the whining to a minimum, as last year’s booing gave Biden some of the evening’s most memorable moments.
This State of the Union will also be the last time Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will be in the audience as Republican leader.
McConnell announced last week that this would be his last term as Republican leader, with his term ending in November.
He will serve his full term in the Senate, which expires in January 2027.
