Airline pilots have revealed the most shocking reasons they have had for kicking passengers off a plane.

The discussion started on the Reddit thread simply titled Flying when a user asked crew members, “HHave you ever kicked a passenger off your flight?’

He explained: ‘This morning I found myself in a sinking hole of videos on YouTube from passengers complaining about being ejected for various reasons.’

And sure enough, the post was soon flooded with giddy stories of drunk ‘a**holes’ and passengers watching porn.

In the original post, which recently resurfaced, the user asked: “I was wondering if any of you have ever kicked out passengers and why? And have you ever been bothered by it?’

It was flooded with comments with most saying drunk passengers were the main reason.

One person wrote: ‘Yes. I’ve kicked off a few over the years. Usually because you were drunk before boarding.

“Removing a passenger is something you don’t take lightly because you know it will eventually become a story.

“Make sure you follow all company procedures, and they can’t say or do anything to you.”

Another commented: ‘Yes. This morning. Took too many pills and drank too much. Could barely walk – no idea how they got past the gate agent.

‘I unloaded them and had to wait a while to get their bags. This caused a delay of 64 minutes.’

A third person added: “Flight attendant here, but I’ve had people removed for drunkenness, assault, not following crew members’ directions, sick passengers, etc.”

‘Pilots don’t really have to deal with the passengers during the flight, but we do. So it is better to remove people if we think they will cause more problems in the air.’

Someone else wrote: ‘Three things get worse as altitude increases. Attitudes, holes and alcoholics. It’s best to leave them on the floor.’

Elsewhere, another shockingly said: ‘Man sitting under a blanket watching porn on his phone. It made the young lady sitting next to him a little uncomfortable. He seemed very shocked when the police came to move him to a better place.

“I wouldn’t use airplane blankets, by the way.”

Another added: ‘Yes – twice in fifteen years. One was a very, very aggressive Dutchman, the other was a very, very, very, drugged-out man who was so far gone he couldn’t even get to his seat without causing a scene.”

One said: ‘Oh yeah, a drunk lady who punched the gate agent and then decided that flashing me would get her a seat on the plane.

‘Drunk pregnant woman pouring herself her own wine.

‘A man who brought his own mixed drinks and was warned upon boarding and acted accommodating until we pushed back.

‘He poured himself another drink and taunted the flight attendant saying she couldn’t stop him now.

‘Man who smokes weed in the bathroom mid-flight and sets off the smoke detectors in the toilet. The police met us at the gate.

‘All decisions are supported by the rest of the crew and the airline. No, I don’t fly for Spirit.’

But the revelations didn’t stop there.

One person wrote: ‘My most recent unloaded passenger involved someone forcing open a fire escape door in the terminal to gain access to our aircraft.

“The passenger in question arrived late at the gate after gate agents closed the flight and was no longer present at the gate.

‘We were about to close the doors when the cabin manager asked why a passenger had boarded after boarding was completed.

‘After a bit of digging, it was [discovered that] he had forced his way up the fire escape and gained access to the tarmac, and thus our aircraft, without properly checking in.

‘Rules and safety laws at airports were broken.

“The police were called to get him off the plane, and as far as I know he was actually arrested.”
