Pep Guardiola has revealed that Manchester City’s packed schedule is already causing problems ahead of their clash with Newcastle on Saturday.

City collected their first silverware of the campaign on Wednesday as they beat Sevilla in Greece to win the UEFA Super Cup.

The club will host Newcastle at the Etihad on Saturday, with the match marking the club’s third game in eight days since the return of the Premier League.

“We want to keep competing and we’re in a big, big problem right now,” Guardiola told reporters ahead of their clash with Newcastle.

“Not just for this game, but in general and that’s it.”

Any manager would say the same thing in my position. In Greece people went to sleep at 4am if they played at 10pm.

‘Arrive, recover with 35c or 40c IN Greece. Come back, get here late, and then it’s this game, tomorrow’s game, today we can’t train.

“I would train, but we’re not going to do anything because we don’t have time. I would like one more day. Anyway, we accept it, this is the challenge. Any manager would say the same.

‘This is the challenge. This is why we won. Because we overcome these kinds of positions all the time. All the time between games we have less time to recover, no problem.

“We have to go there and try it. One of the more physical teams, one of the more efficient teams in the Premier League right now I would say is Liverpool and Newcastle. This is what defines the big teams, how we compete with the issues.
