A woman who was bullied by her classmates for dropping out of high school at 14 is now selling lavish properties as a successful real – and living in her ‘dream’ home.
Alex Yetter, now 22, from Beaverton, Oregon, was forced to put her education on hold when she became pregnant at age 14, and later had to live in her parents’ basement to make ends meet.
Looking back, she remembered the moment her world turned upside down when she discovered she was pregnant. She initially tried to keep her pregnancy a secret, but a growing baby bump quickly foiled her plans.
Alex soon became the subject of cruel comments from fellow pupils and it wasn’t long before she made the choice to quit school and have her son Milo, now eight.
The real estate agent puts her current success down to grit, determination and perhaps a lack of a social life: “I felt like I was missing out on something,” Alex said.

‘I wasn’t dating, I couldn’t go to all the parties like my friends – I couldn’t identify with them.
“Looking back now, I wouldn’t change a thing, because it got me where I am today: living my dreams.”
After dropping out of high school and becoming a full-time mother, Alex placed Milo in day care and enrolled in an online high school course. At the same time, she worked at a tanning salon to help pay the bills.
After a grueling course of hard work, she graduated at the age of 18 with her son by her side.
She even managed to move out of her parents’ basement and into her very first house.
Alex said that having to become a responsible adult at a young age motivated her to pursue the industry of her choice: the world of real estate.
After receiving her real estate license in Oregon, she began attending open houses and networking events to gain a foothold in the business.
Her hard work has paid off as she now mixes with millionaires and sells luxury properties for over $2,000,000.

“I have always had a love and desire for real estate,” says Alex.
“I decided to just pursue that and I’ve been going to networking events, I’m doing the open days, I’m prospecting, I’m doing all these things to try and grow my business.”
Alex now lives in her dream home with her son, who she is now privately educating.
“I’m very grateful that I stepped in and did what I want to do and didn’t give up on my dreams,” Alex said.
‘I worked hard and now I’m making my dreams come true.
“I am blessed to be able to enroll my son in a private Christian school.
‘Early in my real estate career, I was determined that Milo could afford the best education.

‘I am the youngest parent to pay the tuition’.
But things weren’t always so rosy for Alex. She recalled her life coming to a standstill in her first year when her pregnancy test came back positive.
She kept her pregnancy a secret out of shame. However, when she started showing at 20 weeks, rumors started flying through the school.
Alex immediately became the target of nasty comments made to her on a daily basis.
Alex explained, “Before I got pregnant, I was on the cheer team. I had a lot of friends; I was quite well known at school.
‘So when I found out I was in my first year, I didn’t actually tell anyone. The main reason for that was that I was ashamed.
“I started showing at that point, and people asked me, and I denied it. It was difficult.

‘People who did find out said very nasty and mean things to me.
“I just had to learn not to care about what other people said or what other people thought of me, which was really hard as a 14-year-old girl.
‘I thought I had hit rock bottom. I thought it couldn’t get any worse than it already is here.’
But Alex remained resilient. She held her head high and gave birth to adorable baby Milo at the age of 15.
She continued, “It is one of my greatest achievements, graduating from high school, because for some people, graduating from high school is not a problem.
‘But for me it was a lot more difficult. I had to take a different route than a lot of other people.
‘We are just happy and satisfied where we are now. We’ve come a long way since we were in my parents’ basement at age 14 and as newborns.
