Penelope Cruz was pictured on the set of Ferrari for the first time on Thursday in Modena, Italy. 

The actress, 47, is playing Laura, wife of motorsport legend Enzo Ferrari with whom she built their luxury sports car company, and will be played by Adam Driver.

Penelope looked incredible sporting a black bob and a 50s tea for the big-budget film, which will be directed by Michael Mann.

Penelope and Adam are hoping their latest high-octane project will land them in the Oscars race.   

Shailene Woodley is also set to portray Enzo’s mistress Lina Lardi, the mother of his second son, Piero, who would later become the vice chairman of the company.

Ferrari is a passion project from Heat director Michael Mann as he has been working on the project for two decades.

While at this crossroads, Enzo and his team of drivers decide to counter their losses by entering a historic race: the Mille Miglia, which will take them 1,000 miles across Italy.

Through all that Enzo decides to take a major gamble on one race a thousand miles across Italy known as the iconic Mille Miglia. 

Driver replaced Hugh Jackman in the titular role as filming is set to take place May in Italy.

Mann will be at the helm with a script he penned alongside The Italian Job’s Troy Kennedy Martin based on the 1991 book Enzo Ferrari written by Brock Yates. 

Mann, 79, said of the project: ‘Being able to have these wonderfully talented artists, actors Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and Shailene Woodley, bring to life these unique characters on location in Modena and the Emilia-Romagna is a vision fulfilled.’
