Paris Hilton Gets Scolded By Peta For Buying A New Teacup Chihuahua From A Breeder Instead Of Adopting

PETA has scolded Paris Hilton for buying a new teacup Chihuahua from a breeder instead of adopting from a shelter — and now plans to post ads all over Los Angeles protesting her decision.

The campaign got underway after Hilton took to Instagram on Wednesday to gush about her new pup.

Moira Colley, a PETA spokesperson, told DailyMail.com on Friday that the ads will roll out next week and will have Angels plastered all over the city.

“The posters will indicate that Paris overlooked millions of loving homeless dogs in shelters across the US as they pimped for animal breeding,” Colley said.

“PETA hopes our street art blitz will remind every celebrity to lead by example and adopt, never shop.”

Another PETA representative sued the hotel heiress: “Paris Hilton has apparently been living under a rock for the last 10 years, because a day at an animal shelter would have shown her how many chihuahuas already need a home, and five minutes thousands more would appear on Petfinder, including puppies.”

Last month, comedian Pete Davidson left an unhinged voicemail at PETA screaming “f*** you, suck my d***” after being criticized for buying a puppy from a pet store instead of adopting it from an animal shelter.

He was spotted picking up a breeder’s new dog — a mix between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle — at a New York City store along with his actress girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders.

But PETA’s Senior Vice President of Cruelty Investigations Daphna Nachminovitch expressed disappointment at his decision not to adopt.

PETA to Run Ads in LA Criticizing Paris Hilton for Buying a New Teacup Chihuahua from a Breeder

The ad campaign stir came after Hilton took to Instagram on Wednesday in the photo gushing about her new cutie

In Hilton’s Instagram post, the socialite is pictured holding her new puppy and asking fans to help her name him.

‘Welcome the newest addition to the family! He’s so adorable!’ read the caption featuring a photo of Hilton holding her pet and surrounded by her other animals. “What shall we call him?!”

In the post, she also revealed that the teacup chihuahua is related to her beloved Harajuku Bitch, her longtime companion, who passed away in May at the shocking age of 23.

Many fans sent congratulations and their idea for a nickname. ‘Chickpeas…’Gizmo’… ‘Taco’…Tigger’… ‘Teddy Hilton’…and ‘Tinkerbelle, Jr.’ were some of the names.

Calling him an absolute “doll,” one viewer suggested her name as “Kintsugi,” the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver, or platinum, which they felt was fitting due to the loss of her Harajuku Bitch.

Others weren’t so celebratory and echoed PETA’s criticism. “No teacup pets so cruel,” one person wrote. Another posted the hashtag “adoptdon’tshop.”

According to PETA, about 70 million dogs and cats are homeless in the U.S. at any given time, and an estimated 10 percent are in shelters where many must be euthanized.

In the post, the socialite is pictured holding her new hairball before asking fans to help her come up with a name.

Breeders contribute to this crisis by bringing more animals into the world, which in turn produce more animals, many of which will end up on the streets or in animal shelters.

The breeder Hilton used is FouFou’s Teacup Puppies, Inc. Headquartered in Gangam, South Korea, the company sells a variety of different breeds, including Pomeranians, Maltese, poodles, and yorkies.

These special dogs have hefty price tags running into the thousands with a pup costing around $7,000. It’s unclear if Hilton purchased the pup or if the breeder gifted it to her as part of a collaboration.

Hilton’s Instagram features a photo of her with the founders of FouFou’s Teacup Puppies.

“It was an honor and privilege to send our bundle of unconditional puppy love to the Queen of Queens @parishilton. It’s a Paw-Ty,” the founders said in a post.

Words cannot describe how special this moment is. From day one this was a dream come true. Thank you to the most amazing, humble, hard working, sweet, kind hearted, sincere, funny, radiant, beautiful, stunning, iconic, elegant, powerful human on the planet.

The latest uproar isn’t the first time Paris Hilton has been called out for buying dogs

Hilton replied in five words, “I love my new fur baby.”

PETA’s representative added: “PETA knows that retail therapy is something Paris loves most, but we’re asking her to limit shopping to baubles and bags and give an animal a chance to ‘live’ by adopting.” .’

The spokesperson said at least a dozen ads will be displayed in various Los Angeles neighborhoods.

The nonprofit conducted an investigation into what they described as South Korea’s “nightmare” puppy factories, though they told DailyMail.com that Hilton’s breeder was not one of the facilities investigated.

Between March 2022 and January 2023, a PETA Asia researcher visited four puppy mills in South Korea. Since then, PETA has filed complaints with the government and four police stations and we have waited for action, but the facilities are allowed to continue to operate legally.

In it, frightened dogs pace frantically in cramped, filthy cages amid the constant deafening sound of barking, while the owners of the government-connected puppy mill rake in millions.

One owner revealed that he raises animals for both the “pet” trade and dog fighting. When dogs can no longer fight, they are sold for meat and killed. Another breeder suggested removing dogs’ vocal cords and suggested that he had inadvertently killed a dog by administering the wrong injection.
