Parents flying with their young toddler have been criticized today after other passengers complained she was allowed to cause a disturbance on an eight-hour flight.

A traveler, presumably from the US, shared a clip Reddit earlier this week after flying with a family who had walked their daughter on the long flight.

The user posted the video under the title “Letting kids run free on an 8-hour flight” and shared a video showing the youngster jumping vigorously on a tray.

The male passenger in the front seemed to ignore the commotion, despite his seat shaking wildly with the movement.

Many other Reddit users were shocked by the clip, saying they would be mortified if they were the child’s parents.

One wrote, “I’d feel like a failed parent if my kids did this and I just allowed it.”

Meanwhile, another commented, “My parents would have thrown me off the plane in the middle of the flight.”

A third added: “The bouncing is obviously annoying, but so is the bare feet on the tray table…

“Always wipe your stations, folks.”

A fourth wrote: ‘I would never allow one of my children to disturb anyone in this way.

“Speaking a little loudly is one thing. Allowing your toddler to jump on plane seats while holding on to another (strangers) seat is all wrong.

“I hope that man has been compensated in some way. The parents probably saw nothing wrong with this. Unacceptable.’

“Shouldn’t the flight attendants have intervened?” another noted. “If so, I hope that passenger has been reimbursed by the airline.”

Meanwhile, others praised the passenger for him for remaining calm throughout the interaction.

Another wrote, “Why does that man just let it happen? I would have said something.’

“That man is really patient,” a third added. “Some guys really need to keep their kids under control.”

However, others said they would use a different tactic to manage the situation.

One person wrote: ‘I would ask the parents to stop her. Then I would lean the chair back forcefully and unfold it.

“Children are resilient. She’d be fine after the fall.’

Earlier this week, a former flight attendant revealed which type of passenger cabin crew most dislikes.

Kat Kamalani, from the US, worked on planes for six years and recently posted a TikTok video saying that it’s not the babies that annoy the crew, but the people complaining about the babies.

The social media star and mother of two explained that there is nothing worse than complaints like this as it makes both parents and staff uncomfortable.
